Like it Mike!

Love the Consul Capri - can't recall seeing one of those on a rally before.
I agree and used to have an immaculate Consul Classic in the late 80s, to which I fitted a 1500 GT engine. It was a one owner car and had never had the plastic covering taken off the door cards. I remember the period advertisement for the car had a girl sitting on a deck chair in the boot! The lid was open I hasten to add!
The Consul Capri sadly retired with clutch problems - one of a number of retirements - as the rest of the rally headed into the Welsh night stage. This is a tough event!

Love the Landcrab too, Car 31. Still seems to be going strong at lunch on Leg 3, first in class. Tough as old boots and roomy & comfortable for a winter event like this.

Full report so far here: https://heroevents.eu/event-schedule/le-jog-2018/

Hope the rash has cleared up Mike.

Blimey, reads like an rate of attrition. The perseverance of the crews is great.

The landcrab is a regular.

Chris, I marshalled at the start in 2014. Here is the link including pictures.

Sheesh... looks like just 45 cars from the 71 that started have made it to the end of Leg 3 last night at Slaley Hall near Hexham. That's not even out of England yet!

Reliability is everything on an endurance event like this in winter

Looks like the Volvo is still going (it's probably a good car for this kind of thing). I hope that hasn't put the "commentator's curse" on them! Sounds as though it's been tough so far.

It seems the Volvo kept going to the end and finished 3rd in Class 6 (28th overall) - sounds like a very good result in what were reportedly very testing conditions :D

yes, it reads like a war. The 1940's open bentley was leading until it hit a tractor near the end of the rally, bending the bentley's axle.... :?

51 cars made it to the finish in the end. Not sure how that compares to last year, but I read somewhere that last year's snow and ice meant many sections had to be cut resulting in fewer cars dropping out. This year I think the whole route was driven as planned, in the rain and wind. Those guys in the open top cars are braver than me.
