One of the best sales pitches I have seen in a long time. ;-

Post by AJL Electronics » Fri May 19, 2017 8:57 am

Q: Hi, Can I have your number please? I may wish to come and have a look on Friday afternoon/evening if thats ok.
A: Hi Im bemused, what is it you want to look at? Are you planning on bidding on this car? I am not a car sales forecourt! If this seems a bit harsh that is because i have sold lots of cars on Ebay and the percentage of people on here are total timewasters! So if you are wanting to purchase this car then send me your best offer then we can discuss matters further if you meet or exceed the reserve. Then you can view the car! regards Kings Commercials

I just don't know what to say!

Hi
I don't know what percentage on E bay represents total time wasters as he doesn't specify, but I'd say he's clearly one of them!
Q. Would you buy a used car from this man?
A. No, so there's no point in even replying to him.

Well do you want the car or not  I agree with Ian give them a wide beath. I've sold a few cars on Fleabay and haven't had many problems or time wasters, apart from the guy who bought a car with no MOT from me (sold on behalf of the father in law) for £150 and complained that it failed when he put it in for MOT.

Hehe the dark arts of car sales ,I saw an ad on eBay by one 'salesperson ' stating at the end of the ad that he had a gun so don't mess him around , I suspect the police may have gone to check it out ,it's all out there in full technicolor:)

The question was not from me. Just a car I was interested in and checked all the comments. I have now crossed it off my list of possibles.

Odd indeed. I prefer the sort of person who just wants to come and see the car. It tells me they know all about the model already, and just want to assess condition. "Please" suggests a courteous person.
The seller has missed a chance. He'll be dealing with idiotic questions and the "What's the best price, innit?" brigade instead.

I find that the ratio of "time waster to item" on eBay is directly related to what you are selling. If I sell anything relating to a Nissan 200sx, I get a very high ratio of unintelligible questions and time wasters. If it's general Scimitar stuff it's exceptionally low. It's the same with cars, I tried selling an old Honda Accord I'd been using for dent removal practice. Absolute nightmare, with every minicab driver in the area low balling me and trying to pick fault with a £400 car they had yet to see. I sold a GTC in the same week, and it was an absolute pleasure to deal with the enquiries.

Maybe this dealer's stock is the sort that attracts time wasters ? Even so, you can't hope to sell anything with an attitude like that.

Haha, wow... that's a great approach. Is it still on ebay? I'm tempted to send a really long list of questions, ending with a request to come and see it and asking what his best price is and would he be interested in PXing for a gorgeous Rat Rod Kia Pride hatchback. I don't own a Kia Pride, I'd just like to read his response.

Also have a look at the fella who's breaking the silver Sabre on eBay. I was shocked by some his replies, statements on his listings and feedback to customers. Even though he's got parts I want, I won't be dealing with him on principle.

I've sent a request to view it. I decided the Kia needed a little bit more in the way of desirability factor. I think he'll find it tantalisingly difficult to resist now.

I particularly liked the line near the end where he says "I do not tolerate fools, at all". Oh good, well I'm glad he cleared up *that* point for me
