South East United States.

Hey,

Just curious if there is any other Scimitars known to be in the south east? I'm located in Central Florida and hoping I wasn't the only one in the area.

Check out the North American Scimitar thread, we've captured every USA car known about in there. If you are UNKLEDUB then we already found you, if not then you might have a friend!

UnkleDub is a friend. He took some pics before I really started the project

...That looks as though it is crouching waiting to pounce!

I'm in South Carolina. Maybe we should consider getting our Scimitars together at an event half way between us sometime, like the Mitty in Atlanta.

Definately. It might be another year before I'm done though. I'm in Atlanta all the time for work and would love to drive it up.

No worries. I just got mine back on the road after 3 years stuck at the back of my garage. This coming Monday (hurricane Matthew permitting) I am taking it on a track day at Roebling Road, near Savannah, Ga. I have a green '73 SE5a, manual OD. What have you done to yours? What kind of reaction do you get to the car? I seem to get very positive. No one knows what it is at all. Folks always walk around looking at the badges and say "How do you say that? (Scimitar)"

Most people love it. I did some rally x a few years back and surprisingly came second in the modified RWD class, They considered it modified because I had removed the back seats. Here's a link to my Instagram for build progress pics. https://www.instagram.com/hammockhiker/ I need to get on here and update my thread sometime. Only parts being reused are the center frame section and body. Mustang 2 IFS in the front, Ford 8.8 narrowed 8" in the rear and a 302 with T5 trans. I'm working on the roll cage at the moment. I have family in Charlotte, once the car is completed I will be taking it up there for some mountain time, Its way to flat in FL.

How did you fare with the hurricane? I was lucky here in Charleston. Kept power and only a small tree down in the garden.
Wow, you have modified your Scimitar a bit! I don't 'do' Instagram so not sure I can see the pics.

Even without a Instagram account you might be able to see the pics. Hurricane didn't really hit hard inland. The coast really suffered though. Some places are still without power.

FYI, I am planning on driving my Scimitar to The Mitty historic racing event at Road Atlanta, Georgia this coming weekend. 5 hours, 315 miles......even though I've gone through a lot on the car, its still a somewhat daunting challenge having only driven it a couple of hundred miles locally.....
Anyone else in the area considering going?

No going to be able to make it. Have a Disney trip planned with the family. Good luck on the trip and take plenty of pictures along the way.
