RSSOCNZ Queen's Birthday weekend

Post by scimjim » Thu Jun 20, 2013 8:27 am

Hi Everyone

Great weekend & weather organised by Ritchie and Martyn, the rain threatened us each day but never got close, good for Club umbrella sales! Good North / South Island mix of Scimitar and 1st timers at National Rally. Full report in Scimitorque due out before I head to Scimitar International in Scotland 15th June. Saturday great programme with WOW and car museum, Mac's Stoke brewery, Glass works and grass gymkhana where we needed headlight to finish got most of the day, good dinner at Honest lawyer.

Sunday interesting run over Takaka hill and eventually traced down Richard Sangster what a great collection, had side trip to Pupu springs 1st, a good lunch and afterwards visit Salmon farm some did the option Collingwood and Farewell Spit Info Centre for lunch to ticket off their bucket list. Also for some a side trip to Kaiteriteri Beach on way back to Trailways Hotel, excellent venue and Scimitar club dinner. Some Auckland cars just made it back home more tales later.

Cheers Mark Fraser
