I've voted a couple of times too despite the fact that I have 2 on the car (& 2 Dunlop composites just to make sure I please everyone) and 2 in the coal shed awaiting a polishing session.

BUT:-

Can anyone explain why slot mags look great on GTE's but pants on GT's?

I'm probably going to get shot for this, but I'm not over enthusiastic about them on 5/5a's either. 5's look so much better with Dunlop composites on. And for what it's worth Princess Anne wheels look awful no matter what car they're on (IMHO). GT's look great on wires or with pressed steel and hub caps, but I can't think of any others that do them justice.

However Wolfies on a 6/GTC get a big thumbs up from me though !

It's a good job we don't all like the same things, wouldn't life be boring ?

I've always liked wolfies on pretty much anything, since I first saw them on a Datsun 240z in the early 70s. When I first got my 5a it had Dunlops on it, which I changed to wolfies. I then spent two years looking wistfully at photos of my car on its original wheels, and Reliant press photos of 5as with Dunlops and final;ly put mine back on them. Dunlops look great if they are clean and the rims are shiney.

I agree coupes look good on steel or wires. My old coupe was on 15x6 wolfies and to me, never looked quite right. Minilites look good on coupes.

I'd still go for Revolutions as my ideal on 5 or 6 however. Just thnk how good your GTC would look on a set of 15x7 5 spokes with the spokes body colour and the rims polished Steve....

IMHO Dunlops look OK but are impossible to prevent corrsion between the alloy & steel. I personally think Wolfies look great on the 5 series and wouldn't contemplate having anything else

I'm with you on that, but then we find out that Wolfrace may be reproducing Slots, I'm now in a position where I want new wheels but don't want to go for the Revo's or ML's when I could possibly have some shiny new Wolfies and maybe 15" at that !

I may just have to put up with some shiny but very pitted Wolfies until the new ones are released or they decide not to.

In regards to remanufacture I spoke to a chap at revolution months ago in regards to making a range from 16" to 17" and if I supply all the revellent details for offsets he would look into the chance of making and price guide if people would like them more than a set of woolfies I could give an indication on a rough size order
regards Mick j

If the remanufactured Slots don't materialise I'd certainly be interested, though 16" would probably be the limit for me.

Cor :!: I could change the M sport 18's on the beemer if there were 10J Wolfies to take the 255/45's dunno if Abbey would grant me a new mortgage though. :D
what bmw?
Even the 330d E46 runs 245/45 as standard.

Steve are you talking about the VAT rate change or something else ?

On an ex VAT spend of £750 (Rough estimate on a wheel and tyre package) you would be paying and extra £18.75 (17.5% VAT rate is £131.25 and 20% VAT is £150).

I think hes refering to the fact that the bigger the wheels - the more expensive the tyres. i.e. 145 65 10's tyres for my reliant kitten are £30-40, 245 45 18s for the S8 are £130-230 each.

On the flip side - once "exotic" sizes like 205/55VR15's are now commonplace as even humdrum hatchbacks have what we would call "low profile" tyres....
