Coupe door quaterlight seals

Post by peter freeman » Thu Sep 20, 2007 8:08 pm

May well be the same as required for the 5 and 5A's but my coupe certainly needs them.

I understand that the SE4 are different from the SE5 etc.......

Maybe I am mis - informed !

I would be interested in SE4a Seals.

I do have some new remanufactured quarter glass bottom seals.

Cheers

I'd go for a set too, just in case, assuming of course that the sale of arms and legs are not involved!!

cheers, Matt

I bought a pair of 5/5a quarterlight seals from QRG at Curbs this year....... typical, when I wanted them 18 months ago when I was rebuilding the doors on Colonel Mustard, both GW and QRG were out of stock
Couldn't believe my luck when I saw them whilst perusing (salivating??) the shiny bits on the QRG stand :P

Hi Kev

are you sure you dont mean the rubber at the bottom of the quarter light.

I think the rest of the appeal here is for the rubber that the opening quarter light sits into - the Triangular shaped rubber - and this is not available.

If you have a source - then make me first in the queue for a large handfull as I have 4 Coupe that need them.

Many thanks

Steve

What does the profile of this stuff look like?

I may be able to help.

Its a very complex triangle of rubber that surrounds the quarter light itself - and does not seem to be seen on any other car.

Cheers

More of a single moulding, rather than an extrusion, then?

Can anyone confirm for definite that Coupe ones are the same as SE5 and SE5a ones ..... ?

And for that matter are straight six coupe the same as v6 coupe ?

There's a company in Norfolk who I've talked to before about this - he said he had a source for getting moulds made overseas.

I can restart the discussion - but does anyone have a good one ( pair as they are handed ) we could use ... ?

If anyone has one off a car can we get a good photo please - be useful as an aid to the discussion about making moulds etc.

Andrew

I'd like to see a picture of the profile too, the company I work for disposes many off cuts of window channel material.
