15x7 Slot Mags (not Wolfrace)

Post by Shaun Pierce » Thu Dec 17, 2015 1:11 am

Hi All,

I have been looking for 15x7 slot mag wheels for some time and whereby there are some available off the shelf new I don't like them as much as an incomplete set of 3 wheels I have from the 70's. These are 15x7 with 114.3 PCD and 4" backspace (identical to 14x6 Wolfrace as measured by myself so no spacer required). In my view these look nicer than Wolfrace slot mags. Pictures below, a 15" wheel which has had a quick hand polish and a 14" wheel which has been diamond polished.

I have been in contact with a few manufacturers (plus the original manufacturer and Wolfrace) about getting these made. One manufacturer is willing to make these to look almost exactly like the wheel from the 70's but in two piece as opposed to one piece.

The price is dependant on quantities.
- One set is too expensive for me.
- But 5 sets would bring the price down to the same as other new wheels from the manufacturer.
- 10 or more and the price per set would be cheaper still (effectively offering trade discount).

I know I haven't given the price but will come back on this if there is enough interest.

So my question is would anyone on here be interested in purchasing a set of these wheels (if the price was competitive)?

Regards,
Shaun

I can't see the pictures either. I logged onto Flickr and did a search, which found your photostream, but I still couldn't find them - did you perhaps forget to set them to "public"? It's a mistake I've made myself in the past...

Are the kind of wheels you're thinking of, Appliance Wheels, like Josh's - see this thread for example

No, I'm afraid the new links don't work either, so feel free to pm them to me and I'll have a go - I will be out at the noggin a little later, so they may not get dealt with instantly :)

Im sorry but to all intents and purposes - they really look like the original wheels - AKA Wolfrace

I'm confused - they ARE Wolfrace (it's stamped on the rim).

Edit - the pic above are Mike's wheels, not the ones Shaun has

Are they American Racing slots?

They are definitely not Wolfrace or Appliance.

Follow the links in my second post, not the photos inserted by MikeT of his 14" Wolraces.

They do look almost identical to Wolfraces except they are 15x7.

No stamp on outside but on the inside. Not really important who made them, just whether people want 15x7 in 2 piece that look identical (so potential for offsets and widths to be altered) from a reputable manufacturer. If enough interest then price would be cheaper than their catalogue 3 piece wheel that looks like a mag priced at £1,360 per set & VAT & £30 carriage.

This is the price if 5 sets ordered. If 10 or more then the price keeps coming down.

Shaun

These wheels http://us-mags.com/indy-u101-w-142.htm are also available at Summit and ebay for a better price,

As per my first post I did say other wheels are available and cheaper but I prefer the D slot as opposed to the oval slot. Subtle difference but no accounting for taste.

I wouldn't be tempted at that price even if I didn't already have 15x7 Wolfrace
