Personally I don't care much for the Judge design other than the swoopy bonnet line which is similar to (though higher) than the SS1,and the deeper chin.Other than that it seems as cluttered with pointless design features as the original SS1 and it's even more of a wedge with the added disadvantage of looking like it has been squashed in the middle. In addition to all that being rather vertically challenged I like the deeper windscreen on my SS1's as I can see where I'm going which I find quite useful. On a more practical note if you based a design on the Judge front end up to base of windscreen but then made profile level to rear of the car, removed the side swage line and flare to rear wheel junked those ridiculous headresty things and replaced sill covers with some more like those on a mk2 Sabre you may be getting close, but doesn't leave much of the Judge car.To be honest I think the Towns SS2/Target is even worse but I have a suspicion that taking cues from the front of the Judge and the Towns car from the A post back may actually be what I've just described and could look quite good, but would it be affordable?

Nice (but not a market I'd like to see the rare small sports chassis being used for) - I did contemplate a Tribute once (you can pick up an MX5 for less than a Ti SS1 if you wait long enough) and I've looked at the MEV on LCB too. I do like the Elise tail design.

No? each to their own

agree on the MEV and Elise tail though, looks good for a small sports car

Not saying that it wouldn't make an excellent base - and I'm sure some will eventually be used for that type of thing - but would we like to see 50 or 75% of the remaining cars disappear under a 250 kit (for example)? Might raise the value of the few remaining cars I suppose :-)

This 'we' wouldn't have an issue with rebodying some. To be fair, most active ss1 owners, own more than one anyway, so I can't see the pure original looks of the ss1 disappearing anytime soon (que Bob :-))
Re the values, I doubt you or I will see them increase much in our lifetimes Jim, they aren't see going to be E Type desirable rebodied or original!

it may keep a few more cherished and more importantly used and on the road though. General concensus is they are great cars, just have 'challenging' looks (read: 'orrible!)

Nope - it was purely a discussion thread to throw around ideas - it'll be on the back burner for a long time yet with the other work we're currently looking at :-)

I still think there is scope for a few modified panels,

for instance didnt someone do a 4 headlight front? without the ugly pop up bit? I would buy one.
