Very strange, Xavier is in Brest, I wonder if he knows anything about it.

It's Yann Colas, he's a dealer (in Crozon, is that near Brest?) who always has a Scimitar in stock.
He's not making much profit on this one though ...

Chris/Fred, do you know what the seats are from and have they been re-covered? Just curious. :D

Fabrice Barton's beautiful SE5a is no longer for sale.
He has sold enough of his collection to be able to keep the most important car ;-)
And I'd just found him a buyer - who will now turn his attention towards Yann Colas.
I expect a fee Yann, you're a professional.

Has anyone ever bought a car from France? Do you get stopped at the ferry or have problems getting it into the UK? Only two cars available at the moment are either in France or Holland

Will, I think they are Cobras, re-covered.

Lawrence, never done it that way round but there's no problem England to France.
I think it was once rumoured that the UK was in Europe but no-one believed it.

If it's French registered you will need to (re) import it with DVLA - not difficult. From a legal point of view you need insurance and if it's UK registered an MOT and VED same as normal.

Cars in Europe will be substantially more expensive than those in UK - have a little patience, the real selling season is just beginning :-)

Yes, Crozon is the 'cross-shape' peninsula south of Brest ... a nice place but it takes ages to get there when you are on the other side of the 'rade de Brest'.
I used to often visit Brest for business 20 years ago, but haven't been in Britanny for a while now ... I must organize a trip there someday !
How about a Sortie West-o-France next year 8) ? It's only about 800 miles from your place ... I am sure the GTC would love it

Btw, I never was in contact with Yann, but I had run into some of his ads ... I was tempted by a TVR S3 a few years ago, then found the Chimaera

Cheers,
Fred

Not much activity lately but Sjef Schlepers' old SE6 has reappeared, bought by Philippe in Alsace.

He has compiled the car's recent history and will be keeping in touch, well done Philippe.

2011: Sjef SCHLEPERS sold 5500 euros
2012/2013: Patrick M. BERNAL in BIARRITZ / BIDAR (64), spent more than 5000 euros in costs (I have all the bills there was much work on the car and new parts)
2014: for sale in BORDEAUX 8900 euros at garage PESSAC
2014/2015: Philippe COOLS in PLEUDANIEL (22); the Scimitar was part of a set of 4 cars exchanged against one rare car + cash; Mr Cools was not interested in the Scimitar so he put it on sale
2015: Philippe (myself) bought FOR 6500 EUR, Alsace (68)

This SE6a, apparently sound but in need of love and care is open to offers in the department of Creuse (23).
It is an automatic with sunroof (not sure what sort of sunroof) and up to two years ago was well cared-for.
I'm awaiting further info but if anyone is interested I can pass on contact details.

Sorry for photo quality, my mailbox is still scrambling images and I haven't time to rework it completely

Ok I have more details but since it has been parked on the grass for two years it would need a thorough check underneath!
The sellers say it is galvanised "they think" ...

Here's the summary -

The paint work is a bit patchy and a few chips
We believe that she has a galvanised chassis
She was running very well before I stopped using her
She has been in the same place since I stopped using her
Interior is tan fabric seats
We did try to put battery on charge but to no avail I think she need a new one we do not have a spare
She had an underneath treatment
She has stainless exhausts
Chrome rocket covers
We have lots of bit and pieces etc.

Since the price is 'offers', it might be worth a visit, with a battery and a big mirror to see underneath.
If it really has a galva chassis (replacement, obviously) and the motor runs, it would be a good buy.

Edit - just noticed the chrome rocket covers, useful for the next terrorist attack.

AAC-542-S poped up on Le Bon Coin this week ... http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/805304309.htm?ca=12_s
I could not source it in the ScimiFrance section of your website Chris ...- I searched in Haute Vienne (87) although the car
was probably located in another department in the past  ? -

At first sight I thought that Fred Hermand was selling his car : shock:
But this one is still UK registered and based in Limoges, phew ...

Cheers, Fred
