Yes, I didn't think to ask Hans if there is a trace of Bonauto - or a Fiat garage in Chiasso - in his car's history.
I need to speak to him about GTC window frames (his hasn't any) so I'll pose the question at the same time.

No trace of the Fiat garage but it seems Hans' car was a Bonauto / Codeco import.
This is his reply ...

As we discussed earlier it seems that Bonauto was doing a lot of work for the importer Codeco SA (which is shown on the Geneva Exhibition Ticket by the names). Codeco was the importer during 1994 and 1995 and this company made the registration and technical tests for Switzerland (Homologation). Per end of 1995 they gave its car business up and relocated their core business (pumps and parts for the oil industry with regional stocks all over the world) to Monaco. They imported 14 Sabres during their activities. Sales were very slow for the Sabre as its price was the same as the Alfa Romeo Spider with 2 Litre engine.

Hasn't Hans given his details to the registrar? For the yellow car I can't help ...

Perhaps this thread should be renamed to "European or LHD Sabres" Chris? It covers far more than just Swiss cars :-)

Just linked it to a new French owner on Facebook (Olivier Kestens) with #2132 - you may wish to contact if you haven't already?

The thread is essentially about Swiss cars, even if some of them have ended up elsewhere ;)
Olivier Kestens doesn't ring a bell, though I do occasionally get messages from people who don't introduce themselves.
Thanks for the tip Jim, have you any other info because I don't do Facebook?

ah ah ... yes, you're probably right Jim, I think I got stuck in the late XXth century

Belonging to the early internet users - still have a few emails dated from '91 on my PC  - I tend to keep using the tools that I like and sometimes refuse some of the trendy new stuff ... must be an age thing I guess

Work keeps me up to date with technology, and I moved to the world of big brother (Chrome, Gmail, G+, Gdrive and the like), but at home I much prefer to use my good old Tbird and Firefox, keep my files and photos on MY computer - with backups - rather than using 'the cloud', etc.
Same applies to cellphones btw ... I only have the one from the office, that's plenty enough

I never felt any attraction for FB to be honest, an I can hardly keep up with the amount of information flooded by Google and LinkeIn
so FB world will have to survive without me ... I much prefer spending time on the road than joining another social network for that matter

Cheers from the XXth century :P
Fred

Well all our cars, our house, our music are from the 20th century (or earlier) so that's all right by me ;)

Seriously, I don't like the way Faecesbook shoves its nose into everyone's affairs.
I have a real life, I don't need a virtual one.
And I already spend far too much time on internet with Scimitar France!

It's just another (very powerful) tool at your disposal - it doesn't have to take over your life or sell your secrets to the world :-)
