French Scimitar importer found!

Post by DARK STAR » Wed Mar 16, 2016 8:27 pm

I think I may have another scoop, after the amazing story of the swiss Scimitar agent Bonauto.
Today I have received an e-mail from Monsieur Franck Clément, the french importer of SS1's in the 1980's.
Some of you will know that the SS1 in France was homologated as the Clément Mistral.
Mr Clément has the homologation papers and will be happy to produce genuine Certificats de Conformité.
He seems very enthusiastic and - wait for it - is currently preparing to register NEW the last car he imported
I have asked him if he could possibly let me have some details of his business at the time.

As a footnote, it is strange that the only Scimitar model homologated in France is so rare here.
I have on file one Clément Mistral and four or five other SS1's.
Here is the Clément Mistral and Another Red Car, both belonging to Erwan Rissel in Loir-et-Cher ...

Breacon Gold rather than golden sands, although that picture does make it look rather flat!

It would be interesting to know more about the new unregisteted one.
I'm sensing a Tarn Green 16

Green? that doesn't exist over here.
Apart from the Golden Whatsis, all SS1's are red or white, it's obligatory

The very discreet Mr Clément has more news.
The mysterious 'new' SS1/Clément Mistral has done 9000 km on trade plates, it is still unregistered.
Colour yellow, now that's different, still don't know what engine it has.
It is currently undergoing a light restoration prior to being offered for sale in the new year ...

Please form an orderly queue, whether or not it is eventually registered as a Clement Mistral it is an important piece of Reliant history.
