Not near a parts list at moment as I`m at my garage, and looking at My GTC there is no plate present. just 2" penny washers and bolts, so a PO must have removed it before I bought it 17 years ago.

Mark, yes please for the indicator lens, well spotted!
Andy, no captive nuts on mine, mind you they might have fallen off in the dim and distant past.
I've just clamped fibreglass to fibreglass as Mark says.

Item 33. Nigel has them in stock in galvanised steel. However, they are just a bit of folded 2mm galv with three captive nuts and two slots.

Ah, I think I found one of those sculling around in the nose when the car arrived.
I wondered what it was :|

Now for what was undeniably my fault (though I think it is unreasonable to put pavements in the middle of motorway services car parks  )
The airdam being far too low, this is a familiar sight to SE6b and GTC owners.
I set about rebuilding it better and stronger than before with my usual metal-mesh-and-glass-reinforced polyester.
The structure in perforated aly sheet was quite fiddly but the profile is spot on and now just needs filling and smoothing.

When I bought my first GTC, the lower lip had about 10kg of body filler in it - took me weeks to strip it and rebuild the profile in GRP. That's when I went with colour coded bumpers.

Filled and sanded today, some retouching to do.
Forgot to take photos because the postman arrived yippee!
Shiny new coil ("made in England", amazing) and wiring loom.
Seems similar to the old one ...
Is the extra white/yellow connector for a capacitor?
Should I fit one?

Fitting the new loom to the old system was not straightforward however
The plug on the distributor doesn't exist, the four pin connector was broken in half.
And thank you so bloody much Mister Ford, the (other) four pin plug didn't match the socket.
Plugged the distributor in with just the terminals as before, think I might make up a plug later.
Superglued the round 4-pin, reinforced with a tie-wrap.
Carefully dissected the new flat 4-pin plug, ripped the old one apart and inserted the new terminals - bingo!

The coil connected up as intended, I tidied up the wiring and ...
The car started straight away, running at idle for ten minutes the coil did not heat up :hurrah:
We may have a result.
Tomorrow I'll do a road test, if it doesn't work I will still have a new ignition module to try, thanks to Mark.

Having trouble loading pics today, second attempt into batches ...

Well ... I did four laps of my test circuit with no problem (= 13 km)
The furthest it has gone before is 9 km.
But I wonder if this is just because the new coil is more resistant, it was very hot when I checked afterwards.
I'll check the voltage readings tomorrow, but it seems I may need Mark's ignition module.

I made up a plug for the distributor connection, the wires to the terminals are a bit chewed up but seem sound.
It is rather bulky but much neater than insulation tape

Voltages at coil feed -
ignition on, not started
feed wires open 12+v
feed wires connected to coil 5-v
engine running 3-v

Any conclusions?
