Hi Jorg, I have marked all those on my calendar, but I will not be going to all of them - I have to watch my budget! However, because I am interested in competition I have also noted several Montées Historiques in my area (Bourgogne-Saône-et-Loire) , and the Spa Classic. Here are the dates:

Montée Beaune-St.Romain 26-27/3 (Bourgogne Historic Racing Club)
Montée Urcy (21) 28-29/5 (idem)
Montée StHelene(71) 30-31/7
Montée Broye-Autun(71) 4/9
Spa Classic 13-16/5
And a really nice static gathering in Switzerland: English Classic Cars, Morges 1-2/10.

I shall certainly be at the GP de l'Age d'Or , and I would like to do at least one of the Montées again ; Urcy is a real blast! and the new one at Autun should be good, it's about 4kms long. Spa has always been in my bucket-list , as has Le Mans - it's all a question of time and money; but I am sure we shall all meet up somewhere, someday :D
Ian.

Well done chaps, you're much better organised than I am.
Our weekends in the (long) holiday season are governed by bookings in our letting apartments (yes we have vacancies if anyone is looking).
And then we have to fit our own holidays in somewhere (last year we didn't).
Retirement is hard work

I can add to the list but don't yet know if I'll be going ...

AVIGNON MOTOR FESTIVAL (84) 25-27 march 2016

VINTAGE HEROES FESTIVAL La Turballe (44) 14-15 mai 2016

Apart from that, there are still the original event threads for the details.
What do you think?
Of course it's OK Jörg
Excellent initiative which will give us a clear global view of what's available and who's planning to join the events ... better chances to meet other scimitarists then :D
I assume by the format that this 'top' post will be updated on a regular basis with people names, so I will let you know by email whenever I get replies from other french scimitarists ... Ian has already confirmed for Dijon indeed and James Mason (frenchcoupe) is very much tempted ... hope the dates will fit in his agenda

You may add the yearly meeting of English Rencart, which will be on Sunday 4th, september

Thanks !
Fred

Okay, so I will update the opening-post accordingly and will continue to do so...
I also add a link to the dedicated thread in the forum.

Does anyone have details about the 2016 International yet - when, where?
@ Fred: English Rencart - where? Link?
@ Chris: do we know the date for the SoF16 yet? Where?

Jörg ,

For the International '16 there is a thread opened here: viewtopic.php?f=76&t=30946
By the look of it, it would take place in Aachen one of the two last weekends of June - 18-19 or 25-26 -
Looking for more details on the thread

English Rencart's website is: http://www.english-rencart.com/index.php
The advertising will only show near the beginning of summer, and there is no on-line form ... it's a free event, people shoud simply send an email to the club to confirm that they are willing to come - just a matter of having a list of participants and be able to prepare the appropriate number of plates & gifts  -

For the Sortie SOF I would bet the last weekend of september - as usual - ? Phil asked me if I could help in organising the Sortie, maybe in Ardeche ... yet I am not too familiar with the area - except for field trips when I was a geology student - I could help if it were near Lyon, but it had been done already in the past :?
Possible car museums near Lyon are Musee de Rochetaillee, and also the museum in La Clayette (in the mountains, not far from Charolles)
Chris, Phil ... what do you think ?

Keep in touch !
Fred

PS, you can put me under 'booked' for Dijon

If you want to really go south with the event 8) I could invite you to Toulouse - though we don't have any car museums around here. But if you are interested in aircraft...
Or we change to the first September weekend and have a bunch of Scimitars participate at the meeting Grand Rond

At Lyon there are several museums, I'll look them up.
There are two members of Scimitar France in Lyon, including Peter Chadwick who started it all in 2007.
It's a great centre of interest and the Bistro l'Est at Brotteaux is fantastic but I'm not sure about parking in Lyon itself.
It's certainly a possibility - and even further north than the Vaucluse 8)
Oh yes and the dates are as usual the last weekend in september = 24 & 25.
2017 will need some thought because the last saturday is not the same weekend as the last sunday

Lyon might be a very good choice because I've just realised it will be the tenth anniversary of the first Sortie which was of course at Lyon and Rochetaillée.

PS ADMINS COULD WE MAKE THIS A STICKY PLEASE

Hello Jörg ,

One early meeting in the Year: Retromobile, in Paris (Porte de Versailles) 3-7 February
Just thought about it as I need to give my boss the last dates for my yearly vacations - still 12 days to use before March :D -

Cheers,
Fred

Ah, did not see your last post until now... updated the calendar.
Maybe something for a day trip, though not by car...

EDIT: Don't want to do another post just to announce I booked for the International - marked it in the calendar.

Hi Jôrg, here is yet another date for the calendar, this time its in August . Looks like a real treat for anyone in the North-East , provided they are not away on holiday. It's yet another 1st. Montée Historique, this time its celebrating the 110th. Anniversary of the first ever climb up the Ballon d'Alsace! It looks a little expensive until you realise the prices quoted are for a car and two people - and I bet it will pull some really interesting old stuff out of hiding! http://www.monteeballondalsace.com/page.php?rubrique=A.

Entries for the Montée Historique de Ballon D'Alsace have closed, 65 cars listed including the Sabre 6 of Jean Hansen. I shall be there with the SE6A, but only for the parade . If you have nothing else to do on August 13-14th, come and watch the longest (and one of the oldest) hillclimb in France! http://www.monteeballondalsace.com/page.php?rubrique=A
