What a fantastic collection of beautiful old English cars - Congratulations to all your members !!!
Thanks Viv ! I will pass your message to the members ... they will be happy 8)

I haven't planned anything for this week-end, but it's unlikely that I could attend Le Mans
It's the only weekend that I can spend with my daughters in June ... so I am saving it
Sorry Viv, I am sure there will be occasions to meet in the future

Cheers,
Fred

( still trying to catch up with time :? )

Lat month was organized the first session of expertise for this year, a now classic event at the club :D
As usual I am on duty all day to cover the event, and once again we have been lucky with the weather ...
so almost all vehicles were scrutinized in the sunlight rather than the shade of the garage
All cars - but one - were english this time ... I guess that with the increase of the fleet size at the club, and more
people getting interest in having a report from the expert - for their insurance - it will become difficult to pass
'foreign' makes in the future :?

I am know looking forward to the next session - next week-end - because both of my Scimis will attend

Cheers, Fred

Thursday May 14th ... a little group of members spent this public holiday to pay a visit to a friend of us
who has a farm not so far from Nemours ... so it was a day out in the countryside 8)

Had a lot of fun on tiny roads ... and some of the locals that we met on the road had to reverse in order
to let herd go through  crossing with two Jaguars Mark VII and a Bentley Type R in the middle of
the forest is always good fun

Cheers, Fred

Hello Viv :D
Planning some vacations in France not far from Nemours ?
I'd be glad to meet you on any of our events, if one of them fits in your agenda

We have three types of events:

a/ the 'monthly noggin' - every second Sunday morning - but that's a bit short (a couple of hours, 3h max)
except when it's followed by a pique-nique ... then it usually covers the whole day :D
next dates for 'simple noggin': 13-sep (forget it, I'll be at Goodwood !), 11-oct, 8-nov & 13-dec (getting cold though)
next dates for 'noggin with pique-nique': 14-jun, 12-jul, 9-aug

b/ the 'day out', with visits of a couple of places + pique-nique
next dates: 28-jun, 18-oct (balade du gout when targets are farms, producers of specialties ... see the one from last year)

c/ the 'meetings' either organized by us or other clubs, Rotary and the like
next dates: 6-jun (Autodrome Heritage Festival in Monthlery), 7-jun (chateau de Courances)
(those two are just as examples, I doubt you'll turn up this weekend  )
19-jul (Lorris, an old city nearby), 6-sep (OUR yearly meeting in Nemours, will be advertized soon), 20-sep (La Madeleine, another little city)

A few members also have a traditionnal 'summer camp' with just a few cars, when they escape for 4 or 5 days ...
but I never had a chance to join them since it always conflicted with my vacations (sometimes around the begining of August)

The meeting on 6-sep would be the occasion of seeing most of the cars of the club (there are about
120+ expected attendants this year too) ... but apart from a (short) morning drive - ~ 25/30 miles -
it's mostly static ... so it's only good if you wish to see many cars, otherwise one of the 'day out' or
'noggin + pique-nique' gatherings would be more interesting as far as driving goes ... and there are
usually about 20 to 25 cars (sometimes more if the weather is nice)

Since I am not traveling abroad this summer time, I should attend almost all of the above events
- apart from the september noggin - If you are planning a trip which could include one day matching
with some of those dates, you are definitely welcome  If you are touring in Loire Valley,
Bourgogne or Champagne - just random destinations of course, nothing related to wine, er.. -
I could even meet you before/after and join you on the road 8)

Keep in touch !
Fred

Fred,
The 6th Sep sounds interesting - as it's my Birthday !!! I'll also be attending Goodwood as it is only about 12 miles from my house !
Hope to meet up soon.

Viv

Last week-end was our second session with the expert at the club HQs
This time was really busy ... beside taking the usual pictures for the club's records ...
I also had to drive back home at lunch time to change car, since both Purple & the Flying Sub
were being expertised on the same day 8)

Now waiting for the official estimation & report from the expert ... :?
In the meantime here are more pics of today's vehicles under scrutiny

The expert's reports should be interesting, considering how many Scimitars he has seen apart from yours!
Great pics as usual, thanks Fred.

Great pics as usual, thanks Fred.
Indeed, although he had done a few researches on Scimitars before the session ... most of the information that he is gathering on the marque is coming from me and ... Scimitar France (!)
He quite likes the car as a matter of fact, and he had a chance to riding as passenger in Purple last year during our yearly meeting :D
(and he also had a positive feedback from his wife who was sitting in at the back ... hope it will help  )
Will let you know the results !

Cheers, Fred

English Rencart hired an enclosure at the Autodrome Heritage Festival in Montlhery this weekend ...
A bright sunny day, good friends and the presence of 5 Scimitars that were kindly hosted by the club (merci Jean-Pierre !)
compensated for an otherwise somewhat disappointing event ... read more here:
viewtopic.php?f=12&p=340558#p340558

In addition to the 5 Scimitars were 16 other cars - I missed a blue Austin Healey in my pics, for those who may count  -
Here go the attendants of this 2015 edition at Montlhery:
