Motorhome Hire business - Manchester area

Post by ScimitarMatt » Fri Sep 01, 2017 3:04 pm

Afternoon all,

in the spring of 2018 we will be launching a new business venture - Luxury Motorhome Hire

We are just placing the order for our first vehicle to be built and this will be available to rent sometime in late February, early March 2018.

The motorhomes will be 6 berth and have a tow bar which should appeal to polishers and compies alike so you can attend your event with your scimitar or sabre and live in luxury while people admire your gleaming curves or your drifting skills.

If there is enough interest within the club we will offer an RSSOC members discount and will advertise in Slice to show our support for the club.

Watch this space for website details (still under development at the moment) and please feel free to comment on whether it would be something you may be interested in once we're up and running

cheers, Matt (and Yvonne too)

Matt
Good luck with the venture, we are looking at buying a motor home for towing the race car, so could be of interest instead :-)

Hiring as you need does save you shelling out £45k+ and then storing it on your drive for 50 weeks of the year as moss grows on it. And by hiring from us you get a very new vehicle (maximum age will be 2 years old) so no rusty old bangers :D

I'll hopefully be able to share the website details in the next month or so once we've got all of the promotional material from the manufacturer together, i'll then be in a better position to show you what we can offer.

cheers for the interest, Matt

we were discussing motorhome hire last week in Scotland, none of the hired campers we saw appeared to know the width or height of the vehicle,
stopping several feet from the edge of the road, or rubbing the side through the trees,

I assume there must be a huge damage liability?

A great business venture as the outlay and upkeep on a camper is huge, so you have to use it to make it worthwhile. Much like narrowboats, it's expensive to hire (as the business overheads are huge) but a great idea if you're thinking of buying.

£45k is the bottom end of the new motorhome market or top end of the secondhand market - we were wandering around £120k vans last week (looking at ideas not upgrading ours!)

There's around a dozen other established hirers in your area though, so good luck with the competition. I'd be looking at maximum advertising overseas to capture the holiday market coming here due to the weak pound. The Americans and Canadians have a strong rental market.

Good luck Matt, hope it goes well.
Make sure they have trackers fitted, as they go missing! even then they still go. My daughters father in law ended up with six and he watched two disappear across europe and didn't get them back! despite police intervention etc.
I think insurance became too much to bear in the end, and for various reasons gave it up. You can still see his website Wentsmotorhomes.co.uk if you want any ideas
All the best
Peter

Theres always a few adverts on evilbay for motorhome hire, good to check out the competition, and a cheap way to advertise. Do similar with the other trading sites, gumtree etc.
Good Luck ! Can I have an extra discount.
