Battery

Post by speedy555 » Fri Jul 15, 2016 11:10 pm

So, it seems I could be fitted in with the caravan at Curbs....back of the field as the camping hierarchy means as a camping newcomer I'm pondlife at the back :)
Anyway.....the question is, will a car battery be OK for the caravan for sat/sun? Despite spending lots on the caravan the leisure battery is goosed and I'm too tight to replace it. I know it discharges quicker, but 2 or 3 hours of lights and the water pump occasionally???

it will last a couple of days,
we used to use a normal car battery for 2-3 days,

if the worst comes to the worst you can put jump leads on to charge it,

We have a mains generator on site so bring a batt charger and then no worries.

If I remember I could bring my home designed one but it might scare people.

Thanks....got 7 hours out of a car battery today running 2 main interior lights, and still in the green on the batt meter.
