Poor trailer loading

Post by scimjim » Tue Oct 25, 2016 11:33 am

Saw this excellent video on another site that demonstrates the dynamics of a poorly loaded trailer very well

my first hand experience of a badly loaded trailer will be my last one, we put the car on backwards and didn't allow for the engine weight being at the rear instead of the front.
let me tell you that once the trailer starts to swing you are in serious water, the only way i could stop it from swinging was to come to a complete standstill, by this time i had gone across the road into on coming traffic and eventually stopped on the grass verge.

A badly loaded (and I suspect previously bent) trailer helped me prove that it is possible to do a 180 degree spin on a 2 lane motorway without hitting anything. It's not an exercise I intend repeating though.

Never try and argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you based on experience.
