Power steering pump bolts

Post by scimitargtc » Wed Apr 10, 2019 9:38 pm

Ok to get my 6a restarted replaced ignition system no start found dry carb bowl so off with the carb then off with the fuel pump and to get that off the power steering pump comes off and to get it back on the mounting bracket to front engine cover comes off to aid alignment then lose 1 of the pump to front mounting bracket bolts and also note the rear pump bracket is not bolted to the engine.. so does anyone know the bolt size I need for the front bracket to pump or better still has 1 they can sell me....

Power steering pump bolts

Post by Nigel Clark » Wed Apr 10, 2019 10:03 pm

There are two different sizes of bolt used on the power steering pump mounting. Some are 5/16" unf and the others are 3/8" unf.

Hope this helps,

Nigel

Also at least one of the bolts has a spacer, which is easily lost on removal, and difficult to replace.
