Its a good idea but it needs to be in the live feed

Doesn’t make any difference electrically.

Be an idea on a car that's used infrequently to stop any battery drain issues & easier than having to lift the bonnet to use a rally type switch.
It doesn't make any difference if it's in the battery negative lead.
Any chance of a link to the ebay seller you used please?

Don't operate the switch whilst the engine is running, your alternator won't like it.

The one i got turned out to be unsuitable ..The problem with the starter type is after about an hour the operating coil gets very hot..so i'm after a 500 Amp normally closed type so the operating coil would only be used to cut power in the event of a short or fire in the loom...not found one as yet

I doubt you will find one like that.

What you can get is:

Or:

Made for the job of being turned on and off by means of a remote push button/switch.

Bowden cable operate a normal battery switch. You could pull a knob as fast as throw a switch.

FIA spec battery switch (which come with alternator protection and remote pull if you need) don’t bother with cheap ones, the contacts will corrode/arc and leave you stranded one day.
