If you ignore photosynthesis any fuel that burns is carbon neutral, even petrol until its burnt. Electric vehicles are external combustion engines, but the power could be coal, oil, hydro, nuclear, geothermal or wind power. I started using carbon negative on my Facebook page to denote a bio-fuel that was an extremely low carbon footprint. Crude oil is neutral until it gets to the rig head because companies burn the petroleum gas in a flair

When you increase the compression of any engine you make it more thermodynamically efficient, that makes it more powerful.

That's why race cars use methanol all alcohols are less explosive than petrol. In fact, ethanol doesn't vaporize well that's why you have to use multi-point injection so you can squit it accurately into the cylinder, compressing it to heat it, then when it's hot it will vaporize and you can burn it

Which is what makes me laugh about wind or wave power being cheap or sustainable, most windmills will never pay back the building, maintenance or connection costs as they can`t/don`t run 24/7.
Then there is the redundancy costs. :W .

A quick look at DVLA says the CO2 emissions are "not available" :doh:

Although I would have thought they would be off the chart. :mrgreen:

But With the age of it, and the relatively low miles it will have travelled it will probably beat a Prius hands down. :idea:

I'm not offended that's why I looked at ethanol what people see as alternatives are not really, the oil companies have a history of manipulation and downright lying, even the American Congress tired of it and broke up Standard Oil.
It happens you just have to use a fuel of higher octane to stop it pinking and have more power/mileage CNG, propane, butane are all fossil fuels you have to drill for them, so the oil companies don't mind if we use them, Ethanol and the other bio-fuels the oil companies hate, they don't make a cut when anyone uses them.
We really ort to get back to the subject of the thread. I asked if Lockheed front brakes could be upgraded with the kit to ventilated disks.
