SE5 Overriders

Post by Adam H » Wed Jul 18, 2018 7:54 pm

Refitting the front nose support bracket into my SE5 and supporting metalwork but looking at it, it seems to make a lot of sense to fit the overriders first. Is that correct?

Has anyone got a picture of the overrider bolts and how they attach to the car?

And I need two overriders, existing ones are bent. (I've read on here they are the same as Escort Mk1). Are there any stockists or is it a case of searching ebay?

Not the easiest place to photograph! This is looking up from the bottom of the overrider, the two long rivets are holding the rubber on the front. The brown thing is the strap which goes into the nose. You can just see the head of a bumper bolt which sits in a slot in the overrider and fastens to the strap. Finally the strap goes through a hole in the body and bolts onto the nose structure.
So all the interior metalwork needs to be in place first, then assemble the strap to the overrider and slide it through the hole in the body and bolt up. Easiest done with no grille in the air vent
