nice period radio upgrade

Post by Laters » Fri May 25, 2018 7:30 pm

I fitted one of these radios today into the 106 my wife is currently using.

Some of the controls are on the remote only but everything it says it does plus more.
So far Ive tried it with mp3 on SD card, USB stick and bluetooth music streaming from a android phone all which worked well.
The bluetooth phone fuction seems to work. Enabling calls to be answered and ended from the radio buttons.

When you handle the box you will think they forgot to put it in as the radio is very light weight.
Some of the plasic and controlls do feel a little wobbly and not of the greatest quality but in fairness for the price I am more than pleased.
Some parts of the display are a bit gimmicky and unneeded but it does display the names of the mp3 on a scrolling display.

The sound quality is a lot better than expected and I am more than impressed with the radio.

Mine took just under a month to arrive.

After sitting in the car having more of a play with the radio I have ordered another one to fit in the scimitar.
(thats where the first was supposed to be going till my wife decided she wanted a new radio in her car as the old one was playing up)

One of the key functions for me is bluetooth hands free, which in turn depends on a decent external Mic. How well does that work?
In a several vehicles in my care I have used a Pioneer MVH 370/380/390 all of which work very well indeed with the added bonus of compact size and full front / back powerful sound. Only downside for Scimitars is that it's not very retro!
