Even on a manual choke(converted from auto choke years ago)?


1979 se6a auto pas 3.0v6 (unnamed)
1998 Range Rover 4.6 v8 auto (unnamed)
2016 Nissan QashQai 1.6 Tekna CVT dci ("Quentin")
2019 Skoda Cititgo MPI SEL Greentech ("Clyde")

No, you need to pull the choke cable to close the choke flaps on a manual choke.

That’s what I’d thought Jim, so I’ve put it back together incorrectly, iirc the return spring was not what I’d thought to be in the right place so put to where I believed it belonged so I’ll start there. Thank for the pro,pt replies, I used to do this sort of stuff 10-15/years ago but reliance on company cars increasing age and a brain haemorrhage 3 years ago today have clearly all taken their toll
