Selector lever clips

Post by Terry H » Tue Sep 18, 2012 10:24 am

Hi All,
I've been looking for some seletor lever clips as one of mine is broken. I just came upon these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221048498671? ... 1438.l2649 on Ebay, They look exactly the same but are they the same size. I know a few of you have landrovers, would it be possible for someone to check if they are the same. This could be one for the alternative parts book.

Anyone think these may be the same items. My photo (bottom one) is not very good as focusing on my camera isn't working properly. I need someone with a Defender to check the size if possible please.

Probably cheaper from Land Rover themselves?

Yes I was a bit shocked by that , the clip in the ad is prrobably huge and weighs about a kilo. I'm going to nip down to my local Landrover dealer some time today and ask if I can have a look at one. I was hoping someone with a defender on here could have saved me the trouble though.

Just an update on these clips. I've found that the Defender TD5 Diff lock lever retaining clip FRC8548 is the same clip for the gear shift linkage on the side panel and are available from your friendly Landrover parts dealer for the princely sum of 94p each. I think this should be added to the alterparts book/list/file.

Worth making a note of the Landrover part number as well. Landrover here in Newport didn't have any and couldn't tell me if they were the same or no so I had to go to Caerphilly depot and get some.

Having fitted the side panel today I can confirm that these Defender TD5 Diff lock lever retaining clip, Landrover part number FRC8548, do fit perfectly. I would have put them in the Alternative parts file/folder whatever but cant find it on the site.

Yes correct Landrover will fit.I think i'm correct in saying that the 2 rod gearbox requires 5 clips to do a proper overhaul. On the gearbox plan, they are at points 5 -12- 13- 18- 33. Number 33 is not on the index page, but is on the plan.Between 16 & 19.Reliant logic

they don't fit the 2 rod box bellcranks - they're much bigger. QRG have stock.
