the trouble is - once it's online, someone quotes it and it becomes gospel - does the Club registrar agree that half of the galv SS1s were LHD?

No, I did not check it.
I was always told the German importer sold about 200 cars. The Swiss sold an additional 20-ish. A few in other countries. So 225 LHDs?? Production figures on 1987-1990 are around 500 numbers. So I am right (informed)?

I did PM the registrar about the question just seconds ago :D

I would have said galv cars came in around mid 86 (very early #800s) so probably between 600-700 - no idea on numbers of LHD though, so could be 225? still far higher than I previously imagined.

Registrar has no solid answers on this. Only big banks of blanks, which will, most likely, remain unfilled.
So if there were that many SS1s and Sabres sold over there, how many are still about and where do they source their parts from and have the work done?
