Makes a big difference when it looks good at night - unfortunately the MB rev counter and speedo are not that well illuminated - they could do with couple more lamps.
I am quite happy with the illumination of the larger dials as I wasn't expecting them to be so good!
I does require bulbs with a wide angle light spread though, as the first ones I tried weren't bright enough!
I managed to use one of those bulbs in the clock which has its bulb holder virtually in the centre!

That's made a big difference eh - do they work with the dimmer control too?

Cheers,

Mike.

LEDs are either on or off, you can't dim them. In order to reduce the brightness, you have to pulse the power to them, which reduces the on time.

You can dim them by reducing the voltage - the "normal" dimmer reduces he current and is far to low in value to be of any use. ON a scim you wouldd need a dimmer of a few kilohm's across the 12 volt and take off your LED supply from the dimmer wiper. I know it can be done as I have done it on a ship (24 v supply) where we used LED's as pump status indicators - red for stopped yellow standby and green running and to make the LEDs of equal brightness we had to add resistors.

A small change can be achieved with resistors agreed.

Just look at your LED torch when the battery starts to die.

Hi,
This is what I have used....rev counter speedo and 4 central dials, E10 wide angle leds....
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/E10-987-5-LE ... 2749.l2649

Clock... E10 not wide angle, with smaller head to fit into holder, like these....
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5x-GREEN-MG- ... 2749.l2649

4 Central switches plus 1 fan switch...BA7s....
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GREEN-LED-SM ... 2749.l2649

Heater control panel requires a T5 bulb, which I haven't bought yet. I will try one of these,it may need a wide angle version, but the holder is small....

Chrome bezels now all fitted too, which brightens up the dash during the daytime as well....
