I'm going to stick my neck out and say that I believe all SS1's have the captive nuts, just that some don't have the pre drilled body tub. They may perhaps be a few very early cars that don't, just a handfull, but i've never come across one. I thought someone on here had said their car didn't have ...

that's interesting Richard, I had assumed that non-galv cars only had captive nuts fitted if the optional roll bar was ordered when new. If your car is typical, that may mean that they were fitted much earlier than I thought. I know where chassis 131 is, so I may pop over and see if that has nuts fi...

feel free to comment on the above procedures - I've fitted five or six roll bars (never to a car without captive nuts though) and always found it easiest to attach the side arms first, then push it into position to secure the base.
