Heaven and Hell

Well, I have just got to the point of plumbing the new rear slave cylinders and I have come across a problem. All of the pipe connections were seized solid and, despite cans of penetrating oil and lots of heat, it was impossible to remove them intact. Before doing any damage, I obtained replacement ...

Well done, Roger, your photographs always meet the 'excellent' standard and the awards are well deserved. I, too, had missed the original posting so thanks Mikey for bringing it back up. Roger, have you moved on to self-publishing yet? Since I retired, I find that I am taking fewer photographs but I...

Nigel, If you refer to any of my previous posts on the forum, you will notice that I have a unique skill for doing things back-to-front. If I had checked the slave cylinders earlier, I would have realised that a new master cylinder was unnecessary, saving the cost and time. I had planned to service ...

Yes, Nigel, it's often best to just have a break. Yesterday I spun the car around to give me limited access to the back-end. That was my job for the day, but with all this sunshine, I was inspired to get it jacked up ready for when I make a start on the rear brake investigation. After a refreshing c...

Thanks for all your support and kind words, I am a bit prone to bouts of depression. OK, let's start again. Firstly, I've organised my workspace a little and found the other 2 petrol cans, which are now replenished and ready to go into the tank when I next move the car. I have had the plugs out and ...

Hi, The Scimitar has been laid-up for the last three months due to having too many cars to choose from. A couple of weeks ago, I decided to take the car to the garage and top it up with some fresh petrol. I was also going to use their pressure cleaner to remove some engine bay grime prior to getting...

Yes Jim, I have tried that on both Vista and now on Win 10. The image did show up for a split second but then disappeared. No further comment from you on the thread? Steve, I was too late for national service but given a choice I would have been one of those 'Boys in Blue' Keep entertaining us pleas...

Falklands Noggin

I've just come across this in an idle moment. I have several points arising: Is it reasonable to assume that some of our members have Forces experience? Is the Noggin still live? Should this be in the "jokes" section? and finally Can anyone enable the image of the penguin to appear on my screen plea...

Good luck with the upgrades Ian. I know these things have to happen, especially in these fast-moving times, but I am averse to change (just look what's happened with Brexit). Will I still be able to use Windows Vista? I have just about stopped using Win95 these days.

Guide to the Se6a Cooling System

Roger, I am just about to fit a new coolant expansion tube (recently supplied by QRG) to complete my overheating saga. When I look at the plug which fits into the expansion bottle, I notice that it is solid and a tight sliding-fit over the tube. My memory fails me regularly, but do I need to drill a...
