What class can a GM engined 5a enter

The more developed a car is for competition, generally the worse it is for the road. In speed events, the Road-going class is a good compromise of both, but you won't be able to run in it with the GM engine.

Just decide what you want, a modernised road car, or a competition car. Or maybe one of each?

What class can a GM engined 5a enter

Sports Libre, like James said, you'll need a 6-point cage.

What class can a GM engined 5a enter

Aside from any other issues, the 5a is the only Scimitar that went over the 1000 production units p.a. So it's not eligible for SM anyway.

SSSC Specific 2018 Results

I did the spread sheet when I was Comp Sec, after we adopted the CM scoring. It was from scratch to suit the SSSC, not adopted from the CM sheets. It all worked at the time, but I think there have been a few changes over the years. I've not touched it since handing over the Comp Sec reigns. The reas...

The Green Machine - Sprint Car Build

We had ARP head studs on a previous race engine. However, on the current one, it has standard bolts as spec'd by Ric Wood, which is what he uses on the race engines with original casy iron heads.

The Green Machine - Sprint Car Build

The steam could just be inlet manifold gasket failure. It might be worth a compression check before you strip it, then take a good look at the manifold gasket before whipping the heads off. With the black bonnet, I guess the obvious thing to do is paint the rest of the car white. Although you would ...

551 A race oddity

A bit more done on the car, I feel like I’ve been busy and feel like I’ve achieved a lot, but don’t seem to have much that’s photo worthy. After ordering stuff, stuff arrived and I got a big box of Wotsits with bits from Merlin Motorsport. I’m not sure what flavour they were supposed to be, but they...

G130 YCF my first sprint car

're the terminal speeds, every time Ben and I have shared my cars, he's faster than me over the line. Same car, same conditions, different driver. Last time in the Sabre, Ben was 4mph quicker than me over the line. With some work on my line, I reduced it to 1mph slower. I was however, quicker on th...

551 A race oddity

Well, I’ve been busy doing stuff on the SS1 this weekend. Isn’t it amazing how time consuming some stuff is! When you’re making stuff, you can sometimes have to constantly remove & refit other stuff, so I’ve had some of that. Also I want to try and make the car as water tight as it can be & keep the...

551 A race oddity

A little evening job: wire in the rear lights, most of the wires were already done, I just needed to connect up to the switches and dash. I only need tail, stop & rain lights, but the rear indicators are useful too when pitting. At the moment there won't be any front lights, I may need to add someth...

Lovely work, but the integration of a couple of isofix points for a child seat would have really sold it for me.

The Racy Red Bakery Truck.

How about drilling the plastic right through, fit an engineering csk screw, with a counterbore for a nut on the other side, all lock tighted in place?
