Oulton Park 2 June 2018

The CSCC swinging 60s were out again at Oulkton Park on 2nd June. It was the same Sabres & Scimitar as at Silverstone. John Leslie & John Devlin continue to run very closely to each other, John D was 25th on the grid, with John L 25th along side him. However, here's a photo just after the start, whi...

I hate the plastic fuel pipes, I have bad experiences with them on my old SE5a. Crushing, kinking & melting (small thermal event...). I've just changed the plastic fuel feed pipe on my coupe for knunifer pipe, but I've used copper on other cars too. For carbs, with the lower fuel pressure, you can g...

A couple of questions. Does anyone have a top mount manifold that they may wish to sell or lend me so I can get it copied? Or drawings?
I've not got a manifold, but I have a turbo that may be of use, I'll dig out the spec / details.

Im'e not sure your NACA duct will work where it is though, its in the same low pressure zone as the big hole so the flow might be the reverse to what you want. The rectangular hole is only the I/C outlet, it will be ducted to the I/C and sealed around the bonnet. I was planning to add a gurney flap...

Out of interest where did you source your vinyl from? Eldest bro has nearly finished wrapping his new car bit I was surprised by how much the vinyl cost and he said it was difficult to source from companies as a private individual. Might just be fancy vinyl though. The vinyl wrap was from here: htt...

In between sorting the bonnet & rear wings, I’ve flatted back my front ait damn mould a bit more, so it’s just about ready to start waxing up to take a mould. It’s taken quite a bit of effort to salvage that from my impatience! I have some significant gaping holes in the car. I cut away the complete...

While messing around with the bonnet, I flatted back the previous previously applied primer on the rear wings & had another go, these are now lacquered too and I need to look at why the inner arch was fouling the spring dampers, I have a feeling a little more modification is required. 20180528_17023...

I’ve got a bit more done, always less than I’d like to get done though! I started off thinking I’d just mat in some chop strand around the edges of my bonnet. Where I’d single skined it, I left a little bit around the edges to help stiffen it, matting across from this to the upper skin should stiffe...

In place of the original brake servo, I have an adapter for dual master cylinders, as just about seen in the old photo below. 20170501_193539.jpg The front brakes were holding on slightly and the pedal was rock solid. I suspected the the m/c push rod was slightly too long, I couldn't adjust it any f...

The pipe was a very temporary fix, just to stem the leak. The short pipe is now replaced with fuel pipe.

MOT changes

My MOT ran out on the 22nd, so I tried to register VHI again today now it's expired, all easy no problems on the DVLA website as others have said. I think I failed before as it still had a current MOT. I have insurance, it was previously taxed to April 2019. Now VHI registered & still taxed until Ap...

No fuel smell, no petrol patch or wet pipes, so I just need to swap in the section of fuel pipe.
