The Doctors Coupe - SRE 353G

Driving back from Curborough, I had an issue with the headlights. It turned out I’d made an error with the wiring, when changing the alternator. I’d mistaken the non-standard wiring that was already there. This lead me to check through how the wiring had originally been modified for the Lucas ACR al...

The Doctors Coupe - SRE 353G

However, the whine & the previous experience I decided to go with a Wosp replacement. They are used on a lot o...

It's not finished yet, but its 4mm (as per MSA minimum thickness 5.20.8 ) Clear Polycarbonate sheet. If you're happy with the fit of the current one, make a paper template from that to transfer to the new sheet. I had to go from scratch, as the old rear window was broken. I've just bolted the flat c...

Do you really think the fire extinguisher will balance your weight
Not on it's own no. But it's all accumulative.

I’ve made a mounting for the fire extinguisher, which also doubles up as a rear mounting for the new passenger side floor (which will be at the same level as the tunnel). It’s just tacked together for trial fitting, which is good, as it needs a little adjustment to get it to fit properly at the tunn...

Last Friday, I put the coupe up on ramps & whipped out the gear lever pivot to add one of these: 20180803_184620.jpg in here: Wavy washer p1.JPG I was confident that my gear lever rattles would be over, there was certainly reduced play. So out I went for a test drive & above a certain rpm, it starte...

What cars did you see today? (Non-Scimitar)

A Brasier (French car company) with a Spad 12 litre V8 aero engine. Chain driven axle. Apparently at 60 mph it runs at 600 rpm, geared for 140mph. It was pretty bonkers and didn't seem to drive slowly without plently of clutch application. 20180802_193832.jpg 20180802_193915.jpg 20180802_194018.jpg
