Funny peculiar brake issue

All good suggestions, thank you, but can't understand why it's so infrequent, and it doesn't coincide with any particular action on my part. If it's a seal, which I'm not doubting, why doesn't it happen more often????

Funny peculiar brake issue

I have a strange issue with the brakes on SAR. 99% of the time the brakes are very good and the pedal nice and firm, but occasionally - very occasionally - a get a looong brake travel which is most disconcerting to put it mildly. A second push restores the pedal to normal operation and the problem d...

Essex V6 tapping[again!]

I recently had a tapping noise from my engine and found that it was the emission tube valve that fits into the right side rocker cover. I replaced the valve and now all ok. Worth checking I reckon.

ScimFest @ Curborough 17-19 August 2018

Great weekend as usual. Thanks to all who contributed. SAR performed admirably and returned 31 mpg over 400 miles, which I’m pleased and a tad amazed about. The quiz night on Friday was a hoot, though where Monty got some of those questions is quite unbelievable. A good time had by all and here’s a ...

GTE SE 5/5A parts and bits

I don’t know either of the two gents you named, but I’ve put out a Scimaritans request and we’ll see what happens. I’ll take the Rev Counter to Curbs in case there’s a late offer

Curbs to E Berkshire

Is there anyone going to Curbs who could pick up a Rev Counter and get it to Phil Needham (Old and Slow) who lives in East Berkshire somewhere? He has mentioned Chris Gallagher and Guy Betts, but I don't know either of these gentlemen ( at least I don't remember them although the names ring a bell (...

GTE SE 5/5A parts and bits

Hi Len, Both SE5 lower dash panels already gone. Everything else is available. OK to pick up, but I'm assuming you're intending to do that on returning from hols via Plymouth. It would help to know when that is likely to be as we are away too over part of the next few weeks.

Sorry Geoff, no mechanism, only a winder handle. And I'm afraid the Spax have been claimed already. Sorry :(

Roof Rack for SE5a

This is SAR in the mid seventies. No problems at all with a gutter fitted rack and I regularly transported a quite heavy inflatable dinghy on it.

GTE SE 5/5A parts and bits

Philip, I'm not looking for much for it, a couple of quid (enough for a pint perhaps) Hardly worth the cost of getting a Carrier involved. If you're not going to Curbs is there anyone you know who is going? Or maybe there's someone on here who could pick it up and get it to you. Shall I start a thre...

Final call
I also have a large number (well over 100) of copies of Slice, the earliest I think is no 65, but I haven't gone through them all. There's also a technical index that covers nos 1 to 185. All Free.
Oh and there's 8 of the blue hardback binders to keep them in
