Timing

I am trying to set up my timing . I looked in the haynes manual for a mk2 Granada and it says 9 deg BTC, but someone told me that is wrong and it should be 12deg BTC.
Could somebody enlighten me please, which is the correct setting?

Ians GTC rebuild. Light at the end of the tunnel

Looks really great Ian - well done. Look forward to seeing it on the road, suspect next week's Norfolk Noggin (at Stradsett in the west of Norfolk in lieu of our default location) may be pushing you a bit too hard!! Like you I was after a replacement header tank, and I followed Andy (AJL) thread an...

Ians GTC rebuild. Light at the end of the tunnel

Thanks Mikey. The only thing letting it down is the header tank. We have tried everything to get it clean, but it is badly stained. Will just have to live with it and hope I can find one in better condition You'll be lucky! I think that they are Mk1 Transit. If you are not too concerned with origin...

You're making good progress - starting the engine will certainly be a big step :)
Im out in the garage every spare moment, but only when I feel like it. Just want to start the engine so I can tick that off the list. So fingers crossed for this week-end weather (and Barbara) permitting

Ians GTC rebuild. Light at the end of the tunnel

Now after spending over 3 weeks working on the wiring loom things are looking better. Managed to get the interior started over easter but now the weather has changed I didnt want to risk getting the car out of the garage in case it got wet.So put that on the back burner for now and decided to do the...

The adventures of Tom Thumb the daily driver

Saw your car on the ramp at QRG last saturday (just making my usual monthly pilgrimage to the mecca of scimmy parts). Just had to have a peek. I must say it looks very smart. Your new wheels really suit the car. I can see why you plan to keep the car.I hope you have many years of happy motoring with...

Ians GTC rebuild. Now the work begins

Had a day off yesterday at the Restoration show, getting those essential bits that were needed( Im sure Barbara will argue that point, but I needed that 1/4" drive torque wrench and that smart timing light) So today got stuck in and had quite a productive day. Battery on next and crank the engine ov...
