Re: National Family Weekend is back!!!!

Navigation.... After we left home, I asked 'indoors to setup the satnav, although I had already decided to go via Oxford etc. She consulted all the paperwork and input the information. Shortly afterwards, the satnav was suggesting we were going the wrong way and was trying to get us to use the M4. ...

Barbara and I are interested. We can bring either the GTC or SS1 or both. We only live about 1/2 hour away.

Got home monday ( no we didnt get lost) only to be informed of the tasks ahead required on Barbaras SS1. I know the engine is not on th...

Re: Nostalgic Petrol Price.

IMG00318-20120425-1150.jpg I found this stashed away in my late Father office draw, its a fuel card showing the date 15/9/73,for 6 gallons ( not litres :D ) and the cost of £2.10 ,roughly £36.00 ish today. I remember it being 30p a gallon when I first got a car. And you got Quadruple Green Shield st...

Re: Project cheapskate

Glad to here its gone to a good home. Sounds like a nice project- not too costly ( you hope!) I must admit I could always take it or leave it with the SS1, until Barbara got hers. What a great little car to drive. Always seems to put a smile on your face. Dot think it would ever replace my GTC , but...

Re: Any Plumbers here please

Then put an inhibiter in the header tank as it was refilling. All works a lot better now. Another tip is when the header tank is em...

Re: RSSOC Dinner Dance 2011 - Roll up, roll up

I think Matt has summed it up well.
I feel this posting is getting a little heated. No matter what arrangements are made for future events there will always be discord.

Re: Just bought Scimitar GTE 1970 Help

Have you checked the condition of the fuel line from the pump to the carb? I have problems starting my GTC and found rubber pipe inside the braiding had partially collapsed thus restricting the fuel flow from the pump. No worries since I changed it.

Re: Cambs/Huntingdon Noggin

I was noggin sec of the then Cambs( now North Cambs) Noggin, and helped them set up Cambs/Hunts noggin back in the 80s. Remember going to one of their bar-b-ques in some ones back garden just outside Cambridge. They had a very, very long garden and all down one side were parked all our scimitars. A gr...
