Ians GTC rebuild. Now she runs.

Revisited the lumpy running yesterday. Reset the valve clearances and timing and found a crack in the distributor cap. Brand new cap buggered. New one on the way though. Lets hope that will cure the rough running. Not a total waste of a day though. Managed to refit all the brake pipes and fit the ne...

Looking great !
Thanks Steve. Im still enjoying it even if I seem to be spending every spare hour in the garage. Thankfully, Barbara is being very tolerant and has been very helpful when called upon.( I just need to remind her about her SS1 from a couple of years ago)

I may be out of turn to say this, but it does surprise me that people complain at the price of genuine brake parts for our cars.
I agree

Ians GTC rebuild. Now she runs.

When I did my footwell panels I decided that they'd got wet from water coming in via the 'drain' holes at the front of the sills. All sealed up now!! Alex. On the drivers side ,I had water coming in through the aerial. This was the result to the sill strengthener . I made a new one in 16 swg stainl...

That piece fits over the tunnel and folds under the rear seat squab.
I did wonder if they fitted there but I didnt have any carpet under the seats when I removed them.

Ians GTC rebuild. Now she runs.

After a bit of tweeking with the timing the rebuilt engine fired up for time at the week-end. Running a bit lumpy ,valve clearances in need of re-adjustment and the timing wants setting up properly, but thats another task ticked off the list. I now get to use my new shiney timing light. As these job...

Timing

I buy it by the 12 box load.....that way one bottle comes free. It is now called CLASSIC Valvmast...
