Fluctuating volt .meter

Pommy, I reckon our cars must be sending each other signals, as mine seems to suffer the same issues at the same time as yours. It was the same with the cutting out when warm, and now with the dodgy ignition light! For what it's worth, I've got an uprated 50amp 17ACR alternator on its way - decided ...

Ignition light staying on

I've tried turning the headlights on, then starting the engine. The headlights got brighter on start-up. So, should I conclude that the alternator is charging and doing its job, and that the fault is with the ignition light wiring? Again, on a short drive the car behaved impeccably. Any ideas are ap...

Ignition light staying on

I know there are a couple of threads on here to do with the ignition light staying on, but has anyone experienced these symptoms: The ignition light on my 5a is flickering at idle, then glowing brighter with increased revs, and staying on while driving. The voltmeter is reading as normal (around 13V...

Oh my goodness... Mike, I am so sorry to hear this. The car seemed in good shape to me from the little that I saw (and heard), and I was assured the paperwork was comprehensive. I feel pretty flat now. I must apologise, as I clearly made an inaccurate assessment of the car. The seller must've 'talke...

North Coast 500

It's clearly a 'bucket list' experience for any keen driver, as evidenced by the comments above. I fully intend to give it a go sometime too. The issue for me is that, as a teacher, I am limited to the 'peak' times of year, when it'll be busy with tourists... :?

Ooh Will, you've put the burden on me now...! Well, I've had a chat with my wife and she has kindly granted me permission to go and view the car this Sunday morning - not with a view to buying, but to help out Mike. Larkhall is about 30 miles or so from me. Of course, it will depend on whethe...

Welcome! That looks like a lovely car you've got there. In answer to your questions: 1. I believe there was a colour known as 'celtic brown', but I'm pretty sure it wasn't as nice as that colour. I never knew brown could look so good! 2. Yes on both counts, I believe. 3. I think others have done thi...

Fantastic news! I was watching the interview DVD lately and he really does come across well, with a good dose of humour and humility.

You got the chassis number on that one, Jim? I just watched the whole video through. What a staggering number of cars! It appears the guy would buy cars on a whim, then decide later whether he actually liked them (which, in most cases, he didn't!). Bonkers. And to see what he kept in preference to a...
