Reliant scimitar 1977 on Synetic (Salvage) website

Looks like a lot of car for the price... It's a close relative of this stunner from the Hamilton area:

New to me....SE5a RBW

Nice car! 8) I'll be ordering the stainless bumpers myself from Harrington shortly - currently priced at £769 ( https://groupharrington.com/brand/reliant/ ). Pretty steep but, if you love the car, price doesn't come into it... Is that a Golf R lurking in the background? Indium grey? Could almost be ...

National stay-at-home motor show 3rd May

What a lovely day for a car show! 8) £14 in donations which, for a quiet street in a quiet estate, is pretty generous, I'd say!

I'm so glad we still got to have a car show (of sorts) in these difficult times.

Oops - only just found out about this! Great idea though. The forecast is good, so I'll be sure to get the ol' girl out onto the driveway! 8)

History KJX935G SE5 ?

Oh wow, what a glorious sight - all those Scimitars together in one place! :D
I would've loved to have been there - back in 2000 I was learning to drive, so it was certainly long before Scimitar ownership!

Hope you manage to track down the ol' girl...

SE5a Gold goddess

Welcome! Enjoy the gold goddess - and the new 'daily'. I do hope nobody clipped your front end as they turned in to the left there!

On the theme of gold, is that a lovely golden Capri I see in the background too? Mmm... 8)

Broken Boffin

Well, as with everything else at the moment, the improvement plans for Boffin have been put on hold somewhat. The Wolfrace wheels are fitted with their new tyres and ready for a show season that’s now sadly not to be. The Easter plans of an engine tune-up and new exhaust system are postponed. Having...

Tyres - yet again lol

That looks a good size, and will give the correct 'period' look. I recently ordered that size for my 5a, as they fill the wheel arches nicely. Those ones are certainly a cheap option, which may be a good thing - I paid £700 for four Vredestein Sprint Classics, fully fitted.

Se5a front bumpers wanted

Harrington does a set of stainless steel ones, if you're interested - front and back, plus over-riders, for about £750:

I'm going to be ordering them when I get my respray.

White SE6(a?) - SUS 22R

Not a sighting as such, but today my wife was chatting to her boss' father, who casually revealed that he has just recently sold a Scimitar - registration SUS 22R. A bit of research has revealed it's an October '76 SE6a (or would that even make it a rare SE6?), white, auto, with a sunroof, and last ...

Ah, an old friend... This one never seems to have quite settled with anyone long-term, sadly. Here's a post from a few years back regarding its sighting in Edinburgh...

Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres

Is "Boffin" on sprint classics at the moment? I thought I remembered Steve putting them on, "back in the day", but I guess there's been so much water under the bridge since then, that I may be wrong, or they may have been changed? That's right - Boffin's on Sprint Classics (with Dunlop composite wh...

Thanks, guys. Right, that decides it then - I'm going with 185/80 R14 H (90) since, like Roger, I'm aiming for maintaining originality.

Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres

Thanks for clarifying. Yes, maybe they are larger than strictly necessary - I like the 'chunky' look though! Would the smaller 80 profile be likely to help with low-speed manoeuvring and parking?
