Oaksey's XJ6

Very nice...and I can't help but think what this would be like fitted to your S6 Coupe :)

Not that you would,of course, but perhaps these "small block" Jag engines are not too heavy?

Barons 11 December 2018 SE4 - £12K!!

To be honest I never made any serious attempt to get my Dad to buy that old Merc...although I tried hard and failed to get him to have a Jag mk2 3.8 to replace our old Rover 75. It was at this same dealer a year or two later that I saw the ideal car my uncle was looking for,a one year old Sunbeam Ra...

Barons 11 December 2018 SE4 - £12K!!

So Barons were pretty much spot-on with their guide price...Looks a lovely car & probably well-bought at the price. Comments about the chassis reminded me that, many years ago, I was interested in a white 'Straight Six' that was for sale at £300 - (yes, I'm going back a bit & to put it in perspecti...

Towing a car with wire wheels

Tricky one that about responsibility. Knock on wheels are such a rareity now so could the tow company be expected to know all about them? Or would it be covered anyway by their insurance as a general mishap? If the owner knew they were going to tow the vehicle in the wrong direction then perhaps the...

Really..... Sweeping comment ? Not sure why you have a problem with this. Would you say you know more about Scimitars than this Auction house? I would hope so. Regarding normal modern car purchases I have had about 80 cars in my lifetime and I tend to read and research every one before I buy it,and...

Barons 11 December 2018 SE4 - £12K!!

Sadly the motor trade consists of people who seem to know very little of what they are dealing with...and this applies to modern cars as much as old ones! Really..... Sweeping comment ? Not sure why you have a problem with this. Would you say you know more about Scimitars than this Auction house? I...

Barons 11 December 2018 SE4 - £12K!!

Its mad to think that reference in the add to the car having a Mays Head has been removed so quickly, Barons are watching. Its all a bit 1984. Then perhaps they should change the bit where triple SUs are stated as an option where in fact they were standard. Sadly the motor trade consists of people ...

Barons 11 December 2018 SE4 - £12K!!

Is it me or does this car seem a little lifeless? Maybe used to belong to John Major ... ??? Anyway, for anyone in need of a fully restored SE4 this is an opportunity for some serious wallet-lightening: https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1059109 It says the colour is silver grey but the pictures ...

Is a 5A improved over a 5 ?

Taken as a whole the differences are not that significant, which means that it's best to concentrate on getting the best example you can find for whatever you want to spend, that's what I would do.

Scimitar for Sale

After at least two years sat around I suspect the chassis will need work, the interior is shot (dash top, door cards, carpets, dash front, seats, steering wheel, probably headlining too), paintwork is poor, engine looks like its going to be scrap, clutch will be stuck. And so on. I would not be hap...

The adventures of Tom Thumb the daily driver

Nice colour, nice wheels, giving it the correct period look rather than the "too modern " look of the others.

Is the paintwork as good as it seems in the pictures?

2.5 Coupe for sale

TR6 seats?...just a guess.

Many years ago I experienced the 2.5 engine in a Consul (Granada) Estate. Not as much torque but more free revving,as you would expect with the shorter stroke.

I expect at this stage it will need a back to gel coat paint job to be worthwhile.

Scimitar for Sale

I would suggest more pictures, including interior and under the bonnet, and details of what was restored as far as you know together with what you believe are the weaknesses now that need sorting.
That should then encourage some genuine enquiries and avoid time being wasted.
