Having reversed into a Toyota hilux causing apparently £1800 damage the only damage to the C was broken fog light!!! Don't under estimate the.tough build of a scimitar!!! Shouldn't come out of the blanking plate. Put a euro or pound coin on the jack and lift the suspension on the plate then pump in grease and it should be made to come out of the rubber dirt seal. As it is trying to burst past the brass cap then it is probably fairly dried up in the threads. Maybe war...

How I wish my Dad hadn't sold the 'O' gauge electric one of this 'we' had. Engine, tender and three Pullman carriages. It used to thunder around the front room on a double oval.

Mike: They are OK if they use the correct Lb/Ft or Nm providing the threads are dry. Just don't lube the threads.
JP: If very occasionally bolts &/or nuts are slackened a bit and retorqued they should remain removable.

The alloy wheels on my BMW (5 bolts) can get stuck on the edge of the spigot register and can be fitted with copaslip there but the bolts are not lubricated since that can lead to excessive stretch when torqued to the required figure. OR and I can't seem to get this over to neighbours who constantly scrape the windscreens and that is to pour a kettle full of cold water over the frost. By definition tapwater is many degrees warmer than frost.
