SE6a (mostly, but not all) parts

Los of people asking about the timing gears and especially the air filter  Where have they all gone to. The timing gears are the old set removed from my engine - the nylon type. I don't recommend anyone using them so I will probably just chuck them out. I will let the first man get back to me...

SE6a (mostly, but not all) parts

Hi Brian, The auto box is 100% working and useable but was removed from my car as the fluid I removed from it was pretty brown looking and I had just been offered the new box at a fair price. I would not want to sell it for it to fail in the near future after someone had spent time fitting it - it i...

SE6a (mostly, but not all) parts

Hi,

I have responded to all via PM.

(Also been awake since 2am with sciatic pain probably due to carrying/moving heavy parts - proves I am doing the right thing getting rid :| )

Thanks,
MickP.

SE6a (mostly, but not all) parts

As some may know my Scimitar SE6a has just been collected by its new owner, who seemed quite pleased with his purchase. I was going to sort the spares I have accumulated on the first wet day. It has not really rained here for weeks but is now pelting it down not a few hours after the car went away. ...

SE6a On Road Restoration, repair, modification...

I am missing it already, all the more so because it looked and especially sounded fecking ("not the bad "F" word, father") awesome when being driven out and on to the trailer. :D What have I done  . Just thought I would add the following: Quite a few years ago I was basically, and what can on...

SE6a On Road Restoration, repair, modification...

End of the project thread:

I will let the new owner do his own thread if he wants, but he is going to use the car so might spend the time driving it :D .

Ifor Williams P6e trailer (1978 SE6a Auto is SOLD*)

The Ifor Williams P6e Trailer (500kg 6 1/2' x 4') was bought new by me in 2014 to move house from Aberdeen to Montrose. That took 8 or 10 trips (with a Scimitar GTE Automatic, so you can imagine the petrol used). Also collected a couple of motorbikes from Arbroath and Kirriemuir, a sideboard from Gl...

Car also has an alloy or aluminium timing gear set (well the small one is still steel in the set, if I remember correctly). Didn't just want to edit the previous list as it is a fairly important item on an Essex engine.

Alan, I have responded, Thanks.

There is a small piece of body resin sitting on the rear bumper at the fuel filler cap in the third photo. You can see where it has come from on the body at the bottom right of the cap. It was lying in the road at the back of the car when I returned from an offshore trip. There is no other damage an...

Photos! :D We have a strange light here today so the underside did not photo too well - the fog is not far away I fear. Think I got the worst bit at the rear though. I have also learned four (or more) things: One, they don't half accumulate dust while sitting in the garage. Two, the seat covers that...

1978 SE6a Auto, 1997 Ducati 900ss & Ifor Williams P6e

Today looks to be a better day, so hopefully I will get some photos taken and posted later on. 8) I was going through the things that I have replaced since getting the car in March 2008 (I think) and thought it worth noting them as it is a fairly impressive list (or depressive). This is in addition ...

How good is it when you get a result.

Similar thing happened to me about ten years ago: Car would die, briefly, when driving along - usually in busy traffic - so suddenly that it more or less had to be electrical. This only happened very occasionally. The short version; I ended up running a supply to the coil directly from the battery t...
