SE6a french wake up after a long sleep

Hi Zeb; 13 weeks is much too long, the FFVE should have replied by now. I would hassle them if I were you. They were announcing between 14 and 16 weeks at the end of 2018. Now, they are forecasting 12 weeks of delay. According to their web site, they are currently treating demands done between the ...

SE6a french wake up after a long sleep

You are close to the CT, you will be able to drive it soon!
I'm also waiting for FFVE papers, should be there in a couple of weeks, I've sent the papers 13 weeks ago.

Have you seen the new Ginetta ?

Yes, clearly, TVR own engines have a big responsibility in the company collapse (and they have not done this again with the new one).
That's why I find the choice of Ginetta very surprising. But, maybe on each 400kGBP asked, 50k are provisioned to cover warranties...

Have you seen the new Ginetta ?

TVR for the new Griffith is targeting a 90kGBP price and between 500 and 2000 cars to be built (if they manage to start the factory and source all parts...) This Ginetta will be produced in a very low quantity and costs 300k GBP more! Not easy to compare. It's interesting to notice that they have de...

LHD SE5a for sale in Germany

It seems in a very good condition, for sure, but the conversion from RHD to LHD could be an issue and it has to be notified. I don't know in other countries, but in France, in case of a major incident (with injured peoples for example), the insurance companies may use this modification as a way to v...

Hello from the south of France

Shouldn't be too hard to obtain a French registration, but you will have to be patient.
I bought mine in Germany beginning of November, I'm still waiting papers.
If I'm lucky I will be able to drive it in April.

Using van winter tyres on a Scimitar?

Do note you may need a 'Umweltplakete' when traveling outside motorways. For old cars, including Euro1, you don't need a "Umweltplakete" but you have to be aware of the restrictions. Regarding van tyres, this is what the PO of my Scimitar has installed. They are very slippy on the wet (ok, they are...

Auto Retro / French Scimitars in the spotlight

Not a 4TC (hopefully  ) but a Sport! My brother and I, we had GTi in the past and I'm still dreaming of a 16v. Regarding the main topic, no I haven't contacted the french side but I have only experimented my Scimitar for 800km and since I'm waiting the papers. So, except to explain why I bough...

Auto Retro / French Scimitars in the spotlight

Hello Zeb  ... oh what a coincidence, I also took part in this article on the Chimaera  It's indeed an interesting exercise to collect testimonials from actual owners, and show their cars side by side at the end of the article 8) There will be one on the Citroen Ami8 in the months to...
