Essex head gasket failed?

I also thought about this too. the old plastic bottle is pretty grotty. according to the google machine it needs a capacity of 2.16L based on a 12L cooling system capacity. http://blog.cantonracingproducts.com/blog/calculating-expansion-tank-size-requirements maybe one of these might suit - https://...

Fuel hose

I had it in my e36 BMW a few years ago after i replaced the OEM stuff with what some rubbish from the motor factor, was probably coolant hose and not fuel hose at all. Return line burst driving along at 120km down the motorway, didn't feel it but I saw my fuel gauge drop from 1/4 full to empty in a ...

New ones are available from GW but i recall the price was quite high. Somewhere in the region of £200 i think. But good if you dont have time to spend sanding i guess.

Inlet manifold glue expanding and blocking coolant holes

Has anyone seen anything like this before. An inlet manifold i fitted in 2016 has blocked coolant holes because the glue holding the copper plates on has reacted with coolant/water and expanded. It has turned into a squishy rubbery like substance. 20190824_152148.jpg 20190824_152154.jpg 20190824_152...

Skimming the inlet manifold.

Do you think sealant could cause the leak? I see this comment in another thread that relates to the cologne engine. Is it the same for the essex? https://scimitarweb.co.uk/sgwrs/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=3117&p=24238&hilit=Skim+inlet#p22403 What you do need to be careful of with the Ford V6's when skimmi...

Maybe save it as a jpeg or other image format. I dont think placing a .pdf inline is possible. It could contain several pages.

Skimming the inlet manifold.

Hi folks. It has taken me a while to find the source of my rough idle. Spraying some gas under the thermostat housing causes a change of engine note and will make it cut out if i spray enough. So it seems when i did the head/inlet manifold gasket a while back it did not seal correctly. I was very ca...
