Parts question

Carburettor and air cleaner was fitted to a 6b or GTC Cologne engine. It looks like a Weber 38DGAS that has the auto choke water chamber missing. The rest isn't Scimitar related in my opinion. Actually looking again I reckon that is a 6a linkage, not Cologne and the air cleaner isn't the right shape...

My dad's SE6b for sale

[ Perhaps it is just me, as a 21 year old that sees no relevance in that statement? Ah but you are not the 'typical young man' from the perspective of some of us older types. As I have said to you before, I don't have a lot of time for the 'yoof' of today, but I would be proud of you if you were my...

My dad's SE6b for sale

Asking prices are based on the vehicle's worth rather than what you paid for it. I don't think it is over priced at that, it's just a shame that you weren't aware of its value when you sold it. That's business.

drain/ replace auto gearbox oil and gaskets, Do the 1st/reverse servo O rings when you are in there. Take careful not of whether or not there is a return spring. The manual says it should be there, but some gearboxes don't and it causes much worry when you can't find it on reassembly! I stock C3 bi...

Question...SE5A expansion tank pipe layout

Check the pressure cap first. It needs to be intact and have spring pressure when tightening it up. It could be too short or even a blanking cap fitted in error.

Car Cover

No cover is the best recommendation. A car port or the like if need be, but nothing that touches the bodywork itself.

Vinyl vinyl

Ah, not vinyl in the fabric sense, but vinyl film. I wouldn't, as Trevor says it would need a perfect paint job to overlay and might only last five years. If you would like a vinyl roof, have a vinyl roof!

Vinyl vinyl

I dropped into the local car wrappers today and found out that there's a leather-effect vinyl. Has anyone used it on a Scimitar roof I wonder? Alex. What do you think vinyl rooves are? You can use any texture or colour of vinyl, it is just that the traditional texture was fashionable for ...

Without "special" test equipment it is difficult to check a Darlington pair transistor and I suspect that is what is used, the only safe ( and cheapest way ) way is by substitution. Apart from two transistors in the can there could also be resistors - for example. Not sure why Peter? It would look ...

You should be OK with solid. If you break through it, it will oxidise again before you get paint on it.

The usual fault with new fuses is that the connection breaks under the caps. Looks perfect but given away by Volts one side but not the other.
