Essex V6 Cooling discussion

Apart from mixture and timing, main causes are probably incorrectly routed fuel pipes, low fuel pressure, modified/faulty radiator ducting. Also perished fuel pipes, especially under a veicle where they are easy to inspect / replace. I have seen that many times on Scimitars, no reason why the TVR s...

Item 33. Nigel has them in stock in galvanised steel. However, they are just a bit of folded 2mm galv with three captive nuts and two slots.

Chris there is not a central support plate on GTC, the three holes should have very large washers and bolts, nuts to clamp the skirt moulding. Have another look at the parts list Mark, there is an angled support plate bolted to the front of the subframe which takes the weight of the nose. It has ca...

Headlight question?....

Possibly, I will need to have a look in my box of bits. I know I do have a genuine NOS headlight, bowl and loom section if you wanted new. Other than that I reckon I will have something used. I have the Hypoid oil in stock too.

When you get your new shell, you will have to cut off the parking lamp that goes to the clear window and replace it with the type that comes with the new bowl.

1980 SE6a,i cut air vents into the bonnets. RS2000 style.Never had a overheating or fuel evaporation problem since.
I have never cut holes in a perfectly good bonnet and never had an overheating issue that was not the result of a fault.

No it is exactly the same. You will probably need to alter the sidelight connector though, simple enough.

I can probably find you something suitable. Otherwise, they are freely available as H4 fitment online. Watch out for the sidelight hole though, some don't have one.

Problem with my automatic gearbox

Engine idling during level check and mineral oil to Ford spec F/G. DO NOT let anyone talk you into a Dexron fluid, it will destroy your gearbox.

Chris, don't try to re-invent the wheel. With your new bits, it is much simpler to keep it standard. It will also make future fault finding easier if everything complies with the wiring diagram. The ballast system is a good thing in general, so no good reason to delete it.
