Which colour looks best?

Stick with the original colour or as close as you can get to it, looks quite cool.

Resurrection of a 1979 gte

Today I summoned up the energy to raise the car up on axle stands ready to attack the clutch etc. Before I could get the jack under it properly I had to raise the front slightly and four bricks under the tyres came to the rescue. It's a job that I have been dreading all week but it's now up in the a...

Short cut short haul - 1 mile in 30mph zone ?

I recently rented a 3.5 ton beaver tail recovery vehicle something like this http://www.transporterhire.co.uk/ for my escapade, cost me £106 for 24 hours plus fuel. You could always have a look on e bay or Gumtree as there are guys advertising there.

Cool colour and it's just the same as mine, I love all those vibrant colours that the Scimitars came in, far better than the dreary colours of today.

Resurrection of a 1979 gte

If I cannot get enough slack on the starter wire to re terminate it I will do a repair with heatshrink . Not tried the switch swap as I am going to concentrate on the oil slick and clutch first.

Resurrection of a 1979 gte

Back in December I dragged this old GTE home and left it on the driveway for a couple of weeks before giving it a look over. Apologies for the poor photos. http://i1255.photobucket.com/albums/hh636/Roversd1VitesseV8/20171211_223612_zpso68c3ygd.jpg The oil slick it left on the drive was quite a surpr...

non scimitar hydraulic clutch odd problem

My Passat had a clutch problem very similar to yours but I lost all clutch function when I pressed the clutch pedal at a set of traffic lights it hit the floor and had to be pulled back up by hand, pressed it again and the same thing happened. Here was me sitting at a busy junction with absolutely n...

If you go to wickes whatever you do don't leave your car there for more than ninety minutes as the barstewards have cameras and a system that record your entry and leaving time, if you go over the ninety mins you get stung with a hefty fee and then it's up to a ton if not paid within a few days and ...

Just coughed up the RSSOC joining fee. Yes Dave6726 it's Fraser's old car, lots of things on the to do list starting with the oil leak, the fuel smell, the door/tailgate locks, the window regulator and sealing the leaks so I will start a new thread on it's resurrection but that will not be until the...

Thanks guys, lots of things to do to the new arrival and the most urgent is the replacement of the crank shaft seal as it is spewing out more oil than the Torry Canyon, at present it is sitting in a nice warm garage drying out a damp interior. http://i1255.photobucket.com/albums/hh636/Roversd1Vitess...
