Goodwood 28 April 2018 ( with Photos)

As usual, cracking Photos Roger. Was great to see everyone, and big thanks to Homersdouble for marshaling. Times were: Richard Carter - T1 110.99 T2 112.77 T3 110.21 Nick Keyser - T1 101.00 T2 101.67 T3 100.83 I think T3 was a 'best improvement' run. This was my fastest run - I fluffed the 1st-2nd g...

Gurston Down 21/22 April 2018

Thanks chaps - I'm over the moon with the result. What a great weekend! Was good to catch up with Jim and Richard and meet Andrew. Classic Marques are a nice bunch, and made us all very welcome too. We were lucky with the weather - big thunderstorm on Saturday night meant the track was wet Sunday mo...

Swoakes SS1 DET Sprint Car Nose cone repaired

Not tempted by some Titananium for some nice sparks?

Good work on the repairs, glad the damage was (relatively) easily recfified.

Waterproof cover

I’d be interested if someone found one that fitted well - only a top cover as the doors and rear window leak so badly on the racer.

MX5 seems like a good shout.

Gurston Down 21/22 April 2018

Has anyone had any confirmation of their entry being accepted etc? I entered online and besides the 2 automated emails saying thank you for your order and your money, I've not had anything else.

Swoakes SS1 DET Sprint Car Tracking

From the sticky in the small sports section In answer to my question, Craig has sent me some info that I believe he originally got from Geoff C (copyright Haynes) - listed as Sabre Ti (1986-1996) I think the alignment data is valid for all SS models: Front toe in (+)/toe out (-): zero to +1.6 mm (n...

Quite a list of failures this year

Mine self inflicted
Ben Fuel Pump failure
Ben rear trailing arm failure
Jim throtle cable failure
Cosworth wouldn't start.

Any more to add to the list :?:
Blimey, your not meant to test them to destruction!

Yellow Peril On-Track at Goodwood 76MM 17-03-2018 + Photos

We went on saturday, missed your car on track but did find it on display. Looked very smart.

Boy was it cold - every year I comment on how next year has to be warmer... but its always one notch colder! At least it wasn't raining, and racing cars in the snow made for a great spectacle.

Corky's Scimitars (..and now an SS1 race car build)

Yea - we always use felpro on our N/A CVH without issue. Usually good quality, but as you say, asking rather a lot. I used a victor reinz on my turbo CVH for this very reason - whey more steel around the bores than the equivalent RST felpro.

Oh dear - that’s fairly conclusive! Assuming the heads flat, atleast it’s a relatively simple repair compared to an engine swap.

What brand HG was it? Not very much to the fire rings.
