Tyre warming

I can't believe people are questioning the wording?

"For the avoidance of doubt, no manner of abnormally raising the temperature of the tyres/wheels above the natural ambient temperature is allowed."

What you do after the start is surely considered "normal"?

SS1 1600 odd question

Snotty blows reverse light fuses - don't think it's the same fault as it's a Nissan box but they're not needed for MOT so I disconnected them and I'm just that bit more careful when reversing out of anywhere.

ss1 hardtop collection liverpool

It won't fit in a GTE I'm afraid. Renault scenic or mk1 Freelander are the only vehicles I've found so far with a big enough hatch opening. Mercedes e class estates (S210/211) or c class (S202/203) won't take one either :-)

Obviously the simplest way is to bolt it onto an SS1 :D

Also noticed on the Rimmer Bros site that the SD1 elec window thermal cutout is the same as they small sports headlight motor thermal cutout :-)

SE6/a/b electric window mechanisms

They were up to £70 odd quid at Rimmer's IIRC - they have gone up and back down in price. If I had a 6 series I'd snap them up from you just for spares. :D

SS1 1600 odd question

On G97 I cut a hole in the tunnel and taped it over to provide the clearance needed. My current rebuild is a K series so the gearbox is canted over slightly and there's more room.

SE5a Body Off Resto

I reckon I could get a 5a body off in a weekend - it would then take about 5 years to get it back on :D Honestly, if I had a pound for every abandoned body off resto I've ever seen, I'd have about £25 :D Really - why do you want to take the body off? Are the main chassis rails rotten? Have you done ...

SS1 1600 odd question

Yep, there are two types of switch. Most have bullet type connections that come straight out but I think the original (NLA) ones were soldered on at 90 deg.

Jetting 38 dgas for uprated engine

You could try starting a couple of sizes up on idle and main jets but you're just guessing. Make sure it's running rich and get it to a decent tuner (preferably with rolling road) with carb experience. They'll have a selection of jets and be able to change them in minutes, then check properly. If yo...

bonnet adjustment

Yep, get a light down there and you'll find the other end of the bonnet hinge is adjustable too. (3 Bolts and nuts which annoyingly aren't captive!)
