MOT exemption

Recently DVLA stopped changing the year of manufacture field and insisted that the date of registration is now the qualifying date (they haven’t changed their terminology on INF pages though). MOT exemption

No, you don’t need an MOT before becoming exempt - you don’t even legally need to fill out any forms.

You will need to change the VED class to get free tax though.

I wouldn’t use eBay auction - too many time wasters today and fees are high. Classified ad is better IMHO.

Cheers Steve, I don't suppose you have a spare diff drain plug do you? I can't find any for sale.
Have a look for filler plugs (no drain plug on a small sports diff :D )

Positive pressure in GTC fuel tank

Something is definitely wrong if the tank on any car can pressurise. The small sports has a vented cap on early cars and the rollover valve on later cars. GTE/GTC have a spring loaded seal.

Positive pressure in GTC fuel tank

The Ti SST should have a rollover vent - there’s no way it should be able to build any pressure at all.

GTC water pump replacement

Yep. I’d recommend the Ford (Capri, Granada, Sierra) 2.8 cologne Haynes manual for jobs like this as the Reliant books don’t have that kind of detail for the Cologne.

Positive pressure in GTC fuel tank

Who would design a tank that couldn’t let pressure out?

The cap has a one way valve to allow air in - it also has a spring loaded seal to allow excess pressure out. As roger says, you can’t pressurise a tank by taking fuel out, burning half of it and sending a bit back :D

Accuspark Electronic Ignition Module

Or just take an ignition feed for the accuspark, instead of the ballasted feed? On a 6 series you can just disconnect and extend the wire that goes to the ballast resistor.
