The parts manual shows 2 in the front, 3 in the rear - all unique except for the two rearmost.

the gutter - it's held on by rivets into the bodyshell, which can let water in.

Take the king lead off the dizzy and see if you have a spark when you turn it over with the metal centre held close to the engine.

I’ve done several - the doors have mounting holes etc for elec or keep fit, so it’s just a case of swapping everything over. Elec door cards just need holes cutting out, they’re even marked out on the back :D

They’re not Essex - the stud holes on the Essex are slightly offset from the exhaust port centreline.

You said “balanced as an assembly” Roger - that’s what I was questioning. The main pulley has the crank balancing mass, the outer half will be balanced independently, so not significant at all.

I seriously doubt the crank, flywheel and front pulley were put together to balance during production. They will all simply be statically balanced to a specific figure by drilling metal out.
