Identifying later 6a wiring and other things

The delay unit is strange, it uses the earth from the door switches to switch the positive supply to the light.

Spark Plug

Bear in mind that champion and NGK use the opposite configuration for the heat range number (6,7,8).

Sorry, I forgot to answer your PM Andy - but I have removed the complete loom, so I must have the bit you need. Will check tomorrow.

I would definitely replace with something modern - the originals had a problem shifting air that distance when they were new!

SS1 was out of production when the Zetec was introduced. It should be LC but may be pistons or just a decomp plate?

There were 30 6a built after 6b production began, but lots of improvements obviously crept into the late 6a.

Do you have the extra headlights fuse box on the front LH bulkhead of the slam panel?

Puddle lights came in at #4550 according to the parts list, so a little before the 6b.

Could you fit a ribbed wheel to the water pump and just go straight round the outside? The pump wheel looks very similar in size to the Ti (ribbed) pulley - just 4 bolts instead of 3?

Looks similar Andy (obviously the reverse light moulding is different) - remind me of your address by PM and I’ll price up postage.

Why did Reliant use 2 inch bolts to hold the straps on - a half an inch would be plenty.
If you ever fit a new tank with new rubber under the straps, you’ll realise that half an inch would be impossible to start on the threads - fine on something that’s settled over the last 30 years perhaps :D

Don't they have ROP over the seat tops as standard?

Scary though
I think the pretty chromed hoops behind the seats are an option - I think they had a proper rear hoop.

I’m guessing it didn’t have a full cage - did it have any ROPS?
