I think you can put your NCB "on hold" with some companies? Some (mine included) require you to have a "modern daily" to get the full classic discount.

Which ever cylinder the rotor arm points to, adjust that one. If you refit a distributor, the direction the rotor arm points is totally irrelevant - you just move the leads around to get the correct plug firing at the correct time. So it can’t be used as an indication of which tappet to adjust. Who...

Yes, when they’re overlapping (one valve closed and just before the other opens) on any given cylinder, the opposite bank will have two cylinders with a valve open and one with both valves fully closed - this is the one to adjust.

Inlet are 2, 4, 6, 7, 9 & 11 but obvious once the rocker cover is off.

Say it time and time again, but there's more to an SS1 than the chassis, and a bit of rot ain't the be all and end all. Hand me an original low mileage early car any day of the week. In 99% of cases, the chassis of a small sports is perceived as the most important part IMO - everything else is easi...
