A few questions about SE5

Welcome :P Timing gear should definitely be replaced - alloy apparently is quieter than steel. Flexible pipe should be replaced with new pipe that can take modern fuel with ethanol - tank to nylon line, nylon line to pump, pump to carb and same for return lines if fitted. 195 and 205 width tyres are...

Joe's 1972 GTE - Is it not Finished Yet?

I think all of the new off the shelf systems for GTEs have them now - supposedly prevent cracking by allowing more movement. I had them on the 2.9i GTC and they started blowing within 6 months.

Joe's 1972 GTE - Is it not Finished Yet?

I usually tack those ball joints to stop them moving - they wear too fast IMO and leak badly.

Ben's (an emotional quandry) 1975 SE5a

Swap gauge just to check? It’s low across the whole range, so it may possibly be the gauge.

Nope - I tried F to N. If it went to Switzerland in the 70s before DVLA went computerised, it won’t appear at all.

I’d have two columns for date - DVLA date and last confirmed sighting date? I also only put current (or last known) registration in the first column, any other reg appears in remarks.

Window winder runners

Remove the two bolts that secure the rear vertical runner so that you can tip the glass far enough to relocate the wheels in the horizontal runner attached to the glass.

Shooting Brakes

I just had a google to see what engines Invicta used in this (Meadows) and learnt several interesting facts such as Meadows made the Meteor engine (non supercharged version of the Merlin used in tanks). I knew Rover made them as Rolls-Royce ran out of capacity but never knew Meadows made them too.
