Manny's SS1 1600

Yes, they’ll retract without ignition but the question (and answer) was about raising :D

Se6 fog light question

You can only be failed on a mandatory fog light. Pre apr 80 don’t need a mandatory fog light. The old adage of “if it’s fitted, it must work” isn’t correct any more.

No, the headlights shouldn’t raise without the ignition being on.

Two Scimitars and a Calibra

IIRC you had to hotwire the fuel pump last time to prime the system? I wonder if the pump has finally killed the ECU like the Nissan Ti does? I know there’s a relay on the GM but without a wiring diagram you’re just guessing again.

Essex on LPG and Throttle Bodies and a turbo

Turbo(s) in a GTE usually involve custom manifolds to bring the pipes into the spare wheel area as there’s no room to fit them behind or beside the engine. My 6b had a turbo (removed before I got it) and as the Cologne has a bit more room at the side, the battery was relocated and the inner wing cut...

Caravan towing and questions

From here . Realised that I need towing mirrors as while the torpedoes look good, they are pretty useless, even without a caravan on the back! So I bought some that had metal arms and promptly chucked half of it away http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc257/scimjim/8%20Ball/null_zpsfc2db7e9.jpg Bent...

Caravan towing and questions

I couldn’t find anything suitable, so bought a set of towing mirrors (making sure they were metal framed and not plastic) and welded long arms on that clamp to the window frame. Will see if I can find a pic.

Se6 fog light question

BTW - rear fog lamps aren’t mandatory on pre 1 April 1980 and can’t be failed for not working even if fitted on a pre 80.

GTC for sale by auction - 20 November - 1pm.

John Dangerfield badge on the back, rare left hand mirror (manual rather than electric though) and it still has the rear headrests. Bumpers look very good but check the GTC/6b front spoiler for kerb damage. Hood windows seem to be very clear given the fact that the rest of it looks a bit worn? The b...

I would question number one? I’d expect them to be somewhere in the range of 150-170 psi and you have 190+

And so it begins.

Inlet manifold outlet is the brake servo feed.

Exhaust is probably just alignment and a bit of playing around with the engine mounts.

The wing corrosion is a strengthening tube that runs up the windscreen surround - open heart surgery looms :-)
